Why Oh Why?

This little girl, here, has been awfully inquisitive lately.

Why

"Why?" is a very common question in this house.

Sometimes she'll ask the same exact question 5 hundred million times in a row.

Good times.

{She's so dang cute, though, I can't help but find it adorable}

~~~~~~~~~~~
Soooooooo, anyone else watching the big wedding tomorrow? We are so excited! I mean, really, doesn't every little {and big!} girl dream of being a princess?
Tulip Fest!
I have been looking forward to visiting the tulips since . . . last year. Seriously, it is one of my most favorite outings each year. The fields are gorgeous, the flowers are beautiful, and the girls have so much fun.
This year. Well, we've had a LOT of rain. A lot. So much rain that I was afraid we wouldn't make it to the fields. Somehow tromping out there in the pouring down rain just didn't seem as much fun. But last week there was a break in the weather, so we raced over! Twice :)
TulipFest3 W
One day we brought my sister and her littles, and one day we went with my Mom-in-law.
Tulips15 W
They smelled almost as lovely as they looked ;)
TulipFest4 W
And the cow train. We couldn't forget the cow train. This poor mama thought she might just go into labor on the cow train. It was a liiiiiitle bumpy. Lesson learned.
TulipFest W
Is there anything more beautiful than a tulip?
TulipFest2 W
Well, besides daffodils.
Daffodils and tulips are my favorites!!
Tulips12 W
And for as far as the eye can see . . . this.
Ahhhhhh, so gorgeous. We're hoping that we might be able to make it out there just one more time before it ends. Of course, the constant drizzle forecast for the next week isn't too promising. But we're holding out hope.
{Also ~ look for some new prints in my Etsy shop soon! I want to have a canvas made for our powder room, and these flowers would be so beautiful hanging on any wall. Just sayin' ;) }
What about y'all? What are you enjoying about Spring?
Easter in Pictures
I hope you all had a fantastic Easter weekend. We had the most beautiful weather on Saturday. 70 degrees {It hasn't reached 70 in I-don't-know-how-long}, sunshine. It was perfect. And Saturday happened to be the day we celebrated at my mom and dad's.
All three of the girls came down with a miserable cold smack dab in the middle of the festivities, but it only put a small damper on our weekend.
Easter1 B
I never get a shot of all three looking at me at once. Never. Sierra and Makenna are typically fine, but Kam stays still for about 0.00002 seconds, making photo capturing almost impossible. So I love this shot.
Easter2 B
Three peas in a pod, these girls.
Easter4 B
Comparing the loot.
Easter6 B
Sierra and Makenna enjoyed bubble blowing . . .
Easter7 B
and Kam enjoyed bubble catching :)
Easter8 B
And then she proceeded to apply her new chapstick, as only a glamour queen could.
Easter11 B
I was so bummed that we missed our Easter sunrise service. I had been looking forward to it for a long time. But the girls were pretty much miserable, up all night with sniffles and coughing, and it just didn't work out. We stayed home yesterday morning to rest, and later in the afternoon we got to celebrate with Jeremy's parents. We had the most delicious food ever, and a wonderful visit. It truly was the perfect weekend.
Hope yours was equally wonderful!
We Shall Celebrate
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
Matthew 28: 5-6
~~~~~~

What a precious, precious gift we've been given.

Salvation.

Enjoy your families, cherish the memories, and take comfort in the glorious miracle of Jesus' resurrection.

Day at the Dentist

Dentist2

Dentist

I'm pretty sure Sierra and I have the same feelings regarding the dentist. She was a trooper though, and didn't make a peep when they had to pull a baby tooth. In case you're wondering, the tooth fairy rewarded her for her bravery ;)

Also, the new laptop power cord finally arrived. And it looks like I've got a LOT of catch up to do! But it'll have to wait. My sis got in yesterday, and we're having much too much fun visiting.

Spring Has Finally Sprung {Sorta}, And Other Ramblings

Do you see this blue sky?! Holy moly, I'd almost forgotten what blue sky looked like! This is what we got to see yesterday, and what we are hoping for today. It could warm up a bit, and I wouldn't complain, {the high yesterday was 55}, but at this point, we'll take what we can get.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My laptop died. Again. Actually, at this point it's the cord. But the whole system is so on the verge of going completely. We had a new hard drive put in last year, and it really has been on its last leg ever since. I am longing for a new one {especially as I sit here on this hard chair in Jeremy's office, children crowded around, and surrounded by hunting photos and trophies. It's just not conducive to my girly blogging, you know. And, oh yeah, every two seconds a warning of low drive space pops up on the screen. So sad.}.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On to happier news: My sister comes for a visit tomorrow. Besides a quick "hi" at dance team competitions, it has been six months since we've seen Aunt Annie and her babies. And almost a year since they've been here for a visit. To say we are excited would be a major understatement.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And finally, today is my mom's birthday! I would post an adorable photo of her, but remember? I'm on the desktop. Low disk space, yadda yadda yadda. Just picture a cute, petite "nana".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hope you all are enjoying your week!

Good-Bye Home

This week we said good-bye to our old home. And it surprised me just how difficult it was. I knew it would be hard, but we're so thrilled to have our new home complete, and are enjoying it so much, I thought maybe I'd be able to say good-bye to our old home without too many tears.

I was wrong.

It wasn't a big beautiful house. It was old and outdated. But it was our first real home together as a family. It was ours. It was the only home the girls remember.

Byebye B

I kept telling myself that the memories we have don't leave with the house.

They remain with us.

But it was difficult nonetheless. Especially for a girl who gets easily attached.

Byebye2 B

But now?

Now we get to make new memories in our new house.

And it's sure to feel like a home soon.

Byebye3 B

And what do ya know. We can actually see what the front of it looks like. The mobile home was so close to the building site ~ up until now, we had to kind of guess ;)

Wordful Wednesday ~ I'm Not Alone

On the way home from town the other day, I noticed a new "message" on our reader board at church:

WW

First of all, yes, I see the misspellings. I am assuming that someone ran out of letters. Secondly, I do realize that this is a terrible photo. I was trying to drive {5mph} and snap a quick photo all while trying not to look like I was stalking the church. But finally, HALLELUJAH! I'm not the only one who has had enough of this RAIN! It's comforting to know that I have company ;)

For more Wordful Wednesday fun:

Craftin' With The Kiddos

Cousin Kuaile came out for a visit last weekend, making it the perfect opportunity to get the girls together for some craftin'!

Craftday1_edited-1

I found an adorable Easter craft idea on Kaboose, and we made it our own ~ {read: pared it down a LOT to make it super simple for even my two year old}.

We started with Jelly Beans and M&Ms
Sandwich Baggies
Pipe Cleaner
and
Craft Foam

Craftday2

The Pink Jellys and M&Ms made the Bunnies . . .

Craftday3

And the Yellows made the Chickies :)

Craftday4

We're always looking for super simple {and quick!} crafts because some of us have less of an attention span than others. And I always love an activity that uses items that I already have around the house. 'Cuz we live a ways from town, and I hate making special trips.

Craftday5

These fit the bill just fine, wouldn't ya say?

Nature Walk

If you've been around here long, you know that my girls and I love a good nature walk. The weather has put a bit of a damper on our outdoor time, but the other day we found a few drizzle-free hours, and headed outside!

Naturewalk1

Does she look like she's in awe that we've finally made it outside?

Naturewalk2

Sierra doesn't go anywhere without her camera. Like mother, like daughter ;)

Naturewalk3

Kenners quickly headed off to explore the creek.

Naturewalk4

And then we found this little guy. Can you see him in there?

Naturewalk5

The girls wanted a closer look.

Naturewalk6

And then someone got a little cranky that we weren't moving anywhere. This girl likes to be on.the.go!

Naturewalk7

Whew, that's better!

Naturewalk8

Next stop ~ the pond.

Naturewalk9

And even a little evidence that Spring may just be trying to make an appearance after all!

Naturewalk10

Then we came to Grandpa's pond {our property adjoins my parent's property}

Naturewalk11

And we noticed these little sacks floating around . . .

Naturewalk12

It didn't take long for Mama Frog to let us know that we'd better stay AWAY from her babies.

Naturewalk13

She seriously swam back and forth between Sierra and Makenna, coming up to the edge of the water, and giving them the "stare down". It was hilarious! After a minute or two we decided to leave her alone. Poor thing was just trying to protect her little ones.

I can understand that.
