Project 52: Week 13 ~ Details

project 52 p52 weekly photo challenge my3boybarians.com

Details is the theme for Week 13.

And I'm wondering what would be more appropriate than posting the lovely
{eye roll}
scene before me each day.
We're on our way to breaking a record for rainfall this month.
And that's saying a lot since this is the third straight year of obscene amounts of rainfall.

I'm sooooooo ready for Summer.

One Of Those Days

You know those days when you have to drag yourself out of bed,
it's raining {again. still?},
your little one is working on getting teeth, and is miserable,
you have to grocery shop, and it takes you more than two hours,
plus another hour to put it all away when you get home,
and it's just . . . just . . . one of those days?

Me neither.

But, if I did . . .

I'd make one of these:
{you know, just to cheer me up.  Because food cheers me up, what can I say?}

Orangecream2

Orange Creamsicle
{cubes of ice, a splash of cream, orange soda,
stir it all together, add some whipped cream, and sprinkles, and voila!}

Come to think of it, it's pretty delicious on a good day too.

And the little lovies . . . they think it's somethin' special.

{No real oranges were used in the making of this drink.
It is not healthy in any way.
You're welcome}

Wordless Wednesday ~ Afternoon With The Littles

Yesterday Jeremy took the two "olders" fishing, and I stayed at home with the "littles".

I could not believe how much quieter it was with only the two.
Especially since I was left with the littles {most rambunctious ones!}
{I guess Miss Kam didn't have anyone to fight with, lol!}

We played with blocks
Watched a movie
&
Made Yummy Treats

We also played Princess.
But then, we play Princess every day.

Odds & Ends

Do you ever have those days that just fly by and you're not quite sure where they went?
That's pretty much been the last few months for me.

Jeremy came down with some sort of virus last week, so it was pretty much a constant battle of trying to keep the girls away from the germs, while still taking care of him ;)  I will comment no further, because literally every time I open my mouth about us managing to stay away from ilness, someone inevitably gets ahold of one.

Taylor is growing and growing and changing every single day.
 It's crazy.
I guess I had forgotten how much babies change at this age.
She pulls up to standing all the time.

She just stands there, holding on with one hand, and waving with the other, as if to rub it in that she has no intentions on staying "the baby" for very long.

And yes, she got her first taste of curly fries at Arby's on Friday.  She's fast, that one!

The girls teamed up with my mom and dad to plan a little anniversary celebration for Jeremy and me.
Poor Jerm was still burning up with fever, but we trekked next door for a quick cake and ice cream.  The girls had made a banner, and decorated with streamers and balloons.  It was so so sweet.

Yesterday, I made THESE for the second time in a week.  I spotted them on Pinterest, and knew they'd be a hit.  Yesterday I skipped the donut-sculpting, and just cut the biscuits into fourths and threw them in the oil to fry.

They were the perfect size for little hands :)

Unfortunately, they were inhaled shortly after I made them, and I never did get a picture of the finished product.  Next time.

And today we got out the craft foam for some Eastery-Crafty Goodness.

Project 52: Week 12 ~ Hunger

project 52 p52 weekly photo challenge my3boybarians.com

This week's theme is Hunger.

As in, The Hunger Games.

Oh how I loved the book.

Loved.

And I'm so anxious to see the movie {which is out TODAY!}

I also love jewelry.  So I combined the two:

Real

In other, non-related {but equally wonderful and exciting} news:

It's Jeremy's and my anniversary today!

10 years, people.

♥ 9 Months ♥

Ohhhhh Miss Tay . . . say it ain't so!
Can you really be 9 months old already??
Why can't you just stay teeny tiny forever?

Tay2b

You are into EVERYTHING.
I can't take my eyes off of you for one single second.
You've got the army crawl down pat, and if you see something of interest ~ away you go ~
crawling like there's no tomorrow!

Tay4

You LOVE the sound of your own voice.  There is nothing sweeter than hearing you chatter away.  And there is nothing more hilarious than listening to you belt it out in church during worship.
Tay3

{Look at those two little chompers!}

You are developing quite a sense of humor.
If someone tries to take something away from you {that you're not supposed to have, ahem}, there is an all out tug of war that usually ends with your squeals and giggles.
And you've discovered the super fun high chair game: "throw everything on the floor and watch others scramble to pick it up".  Hours of entertainment, that one!
Tay1

You are getting SO big.

You are in 12-18 month clothing already, and I'm not sure of your exact weight {we go in for your check up tomorrow}, but I'm guessing it to be close to 22 pounds.  BIG GIRL!

And I think you're trying to drop your second nap.  There have been many days lately that you've managed easily with one nap.

It's so hard to believe that at this time last year we were anticipating your arrival.  Wondering what you'd look like.  Imagining your personality.  And here you are.  In some ways so very much like your sisters.  In other ways, your very own person.

We love you so much, sweet girl!  Happy 9 Months!

The other day, we came up with this:

Babies Galore!

Y'all, we have 17  new, fuzzy little babies at our house.
Jealous?
 I thought ya might be.

A few weeks ago Jeremy had the fantabulous idea to incubate eggs.  Ya see, last year we brought 8 lovely little chickies home from Coastal.  And one of those little chickies wound up being a rooster.  We thought it might be kind of fun to hatch our very own eggs.  What a Science project, right?

So.  A few days after we got home from San Diego, we fired up the incubator, and nestled a whole bunch of little eggs inside it.

And waited.
And turned them.
And waited.
And added water to up the humidity.
And turned them.
And waited.

And . . .

Lookie what we found on Saturday morning!

{Warning: Baby chicks aren't exactly the cutest when they're first born.  "Birth pictures" to follow}

{Also, Mimi . . . no more chickie horror stories, k?  That was frightening.}

Finally breaking free

And by this morning . . .
Sixteen baby chickies!!!
Chicks3

Good gracious they're cute!
Chicks4

They kept us pretty busy this weekend.  How was your weekend?  Do tell.
