Time for another house update!
I'm feeling like we're getting somewhere ;) The electrical wiring is done, insulation is in, and we are smack dab in the middle of sheetrock. Hopefully by the first part of November it will be complete, and we'll be moving on to interior painting, hanging doors, and putting up trim. After that we'll have cabinets installed, then flooring, the banister, and then . . . we'll be close to being ready to move in! Funny, when I say it like that, it sounds like we're almost done. We're FAR from almost done, but things are moving along quite nicely. Our goal is to be moved in by the middle of January. We'll see.
Since it's been awhile, I thought we needed some photos.
Have y'all seen our exterior color? I couldn't remember . . .
In the above pic you can see just how close our current home is to our new one. Crazy, huh?
These were taken last week as the insulation was installed.
And these were taken yesterday after sheetrock walls went up and the first taping and mud took place.
It was almost impossible for me to get the pictures I wanted. I'm not trying to be a whiney baby, but I REALLY want another lens. My 50mm is just not cutting it in tight spaces. Anyway.
Hopefully you can still get an idea. It is AMAZING how the sheetrock has changed the whole look of the inside of the house. No more "walking through walls" ;) It looks so much bigger.
You can't really tell, but this is our living room.
I'm hoping these next few months fly by! :)

Wow, it's looking awesome!! I cannot wait to build ours! Hoping to get out of debt except our home in about a year from now. Then we can start!
I love the color of the outside! I didn't realize the first pictures were not the color.
The middle of January is very soon! The last 3 months of the year are going to fly by and before you know it you'll be moving in! Very exciting- so happy for you.
Everything looks so fabulous. Your front door set up is identical to ours. :)
Thanks so much for sharing, I love seeing all the progress. It looks so good.

Yay!! It looks so good!!! I love the exterior color :) You should go through and write scriptures on the wood subfloors . We did that in the one house we built and it was so neat to know they were under there after the floors went in. ;D
I love your exterior color and design! My in-laws did the same thing, building about 20' from their "temporary" dwelling.
Congrats on closing in the on the finish line. Finish electric, interior paint, and flooring are lots of fun to see accomplished.
Your home is looking like a home.
LOVE the exterior color...and I love your views.
In a few years, these next months will be a 'snap' of your fingers.
I love it I thought I remember it being yellow? LOL! I love this color though. Did you post how many sq. feet it is?
beautiful! yay for you all!!!
Completely gorgeous! I can't wait to see the rest of the touches come together!
I love it! Can wait to see it finished.
Wow, what progress! I love seeing everything come together. You must be beyond excited. Dinners outside watching the sunset sound out of this world - it is still much too hot for us to enjoy that but I am really looking forward to it :) This will be our first year with a finished patio!!
How exciting! It's beautiful! Can't wait for it to be done for you guys!
I am so excited for you guys!! Plus, you know what they say...new house, new baby :)
It looks AMAZING!!! You guys are leaps and bounds ahead of us! Our heat and air guys are still working today...but hopefully finishing up soon. They got our units installed in the attic last week and most of the duct work finished. Our hold up right now is getting the old and new part tied-in together. It's a much slower process that I had imagined. Seems like everything has a "prerequisite"..."you have to do *this* before you can do *that*". My hubby and my uncle are pouring our sidewalk and front porch this week and then removing our existing front door and framing it in to get it ready for the sheet rock guys. They also have to remove and frame in the window that is in our living room. Things are about to get really messy...but this is the road we must take to get it finished. I just keep reminding myself of the end result.
Love the porch that your husband and dad are doing!! It looks great...and what a view! :)
Hope you have a wonderful week!!♥
I cant wait to see it when its all done!
It is looking so good! The last few weeks will seem to take forever though! I remember thinking that after sheetrock we should be in the house soon...I was so wrong! That is when all the time consuming work starts:) I love the color and the siding!
