Dancing Queen{s}

Saturday night was the girls Christmas Dance Recital.  They look so forward to all of their performances, and I do too!  I don't know if it's because I spent so many years dancing {and coaching and teaching}, or if it's just because I'm a mama, but I get teary at all of their performances.

This year was a little difficult because most of us weren't feeling all that great, and Kam was feeling downright awful.  But she insisted on going to watch her sissies.  Thank goodness for my mother-in-law.  She offered to take the older two so they could be there early, and so that I could stay at home with Kam {and Taylor} as long as possible.

Luckily they got right down to business, and I think the entire show was only about an hour long.

And the girls . . . .

they looked AWESOME!  I knew they would.

Busy Busy Bees

We've been busy, busy bees!

First off, all of my whining about the weather has, apparently, paid off ;)

Busy1

We've had a two day break from the rain, and the thermometer hit 86 degrees this weekend! WOOHOOOO!

Busy2

Sierra and Makenna have been practing and preparing for their upcoming dance recital. They dance all.day.long. Up and down the grocery aisles, in the living room, outside, you name it. It's pretty cute. After my doctor appointment on Friday {more on that later}, we stopped by Michael's to pick up some things we could use in making little gifts for the girls' classmates. Kenners chose these little suckers. And we saw the butterflies, and couldn't resist. So we turned them into hair clips.

Busy3

Sierra decided to make bracelets for the girls in her Jazz 3 class. After I snapped this photo we added a little sterling disc stamped with the girls' initials.

Busy4

Oh, and did I mention the weather has been gorgeous?! I did? Oh, well, it's worth mentioning twice ;) {Did ya notice that someone lost another tooth?}

Busy5

If you're new here, or missed it before, we live right next door to my parents. We each own 20 acres that adjoin, and it's such fun for the girls to have their grandparents nearby {Jeremy's parents are just up the road too, making it extra special!} Sierra's been holding on to this mailbox since Valentine's Day in hopes of putting it up where our driveways meet, so that they can exchange notes.

Busy6

Oh, and did I mention? We've been having some nice weather ;)

Dance Recital!

{A little warning: pictures may be blurry, dark, and completely out of focus. It was DARK in there, and I didn't have time to do much more than just crop. Sorry!}
Saturday was Dance Recital Day!
The girls had seriously been counting down for weeks, they were so excited. Preparations started early in the afternoon. A girl has gotta look her best, you know.

Hair curling, nail painting, there was a whole lotta pampering goin' on.

Once we got to the auditorium, we had a few minutes to kick back.

And then it was time for the show!

Kenners did such a great job. She tapped her little heart out!

There was a little bit of a jumble exiting the stage, but all in all, the whole group did a fabulous job!

Next up was Sis. She was groovin' to "I will survive", ha!

After a costume change she was Princess Jasmine in "A whole new world".

They were pretty proud of their performances {and their roses!}. Afterward we went home, got into jammies, ate pizza, and watched the recital on video. It was a great evening!

And now we are officially on Summer Break! Woohooo! Now, a little sun would be nice ;)

And finally . . .

The necklaces for my tap girls.

I do realize that these are ballet slippers, and not tap shoes, but I couldn't find tap shoe pendants :( I think they'll like them anyway.

I stamped their initials on each one. Can't wait to surprise them at the recital!

And, yeah, three posts in one day?! Can you believe it??

Join us Saturdays at tatertotsandjello.com for the weekend wrap up party!

I'm not really sure how it's possible, but here it is May already! I mean, the middle of May. Soon it'll be June. Anyone else get a little panicky when time starts flyin'?
Anyway.
Yesterday was SPRING FLING!
Do you remember Spring Fling from last year?
Uh, yeah, wasn't that just last month? See what I mean about time?
This year, both Sierra and Makenna danced in the show, and I had a little group of Tappers that were SO cute, and did such a good job!

Lindsay, our Director, kicked things off.

Twirlin' to A Whole New World.

And breakin' it on down with the Chicken Dance. No performance is complete without the Chicken Dance, people.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Afterward we got lunch with friends at Subway, played on the playground, and ate Sno Cones.
It was a good day.
And today we are headed into Portland to attend a baby shower for my cousin. We are so excited to celebrate with her!
What are y'all up to?
