More House Pics

So . . . you asked for it! More house pics :)

We tend to be a bit private at times, so I will try to share enough without over-sharing. Know what I mean? ;) And before we start, you have to promise not to look too closely. We just started moving in on Wednesday. We're definitely still in the "settling in" stage.

Ready?

Please, come on in . . .

New House 1

On the right you'll find the powder room. No mirrors yet, but soon. Soon.

New House 3

And on the left, Jeremy's office. A perfect spot for his hunting trophies. A little further down is my pantry.

New House 2

The stairway. We'll head on upstairs in a minute.

New House 4

And our kitchen/dining room. This is where we spend a great deal of time, you know. Cooking, food prep, clean up, homeschooling. Whew! A little further and you'd see our dining room table and sliding glass doors that lead to a back deck. We can't wait to enjoy breakfast out there once the weather starts cooperating.

New House 5

And the Living area. This room is getting some brand new furniture in a few weeks. My super sweet and loving in-laws surprised us with a trip to pick out a new sofa and chair. Until the furniture arrives we're kind of leaving this room alone.

New House 6

Across from the kitchen is the hallway that leads to our bedroom and the room the girls are staying in for now. Until they feel more comfortable heading upstairs ;) There is also the utility room down that way which leads to the garage.

New House 7

Now, on to the upstairs . . .

The first door on the right is the girls' bathroom.

New House 9

And straight ahead, two bedrooms.

New House 8

One houses vanities, my sewing machine, crafts, toy boxes and bins . . .

New House 10

And the other, the girls' beds and dressers.

New House 11

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks so much for all your sweet comments and emails. We so appreciate the thoughts and prayers during this time of transition. I think we're all settling in nicely. And hopefully all of the paperwork, manufactured home selling and moving, and clean up go smoothly and are behind us by the time baby girl #4 arrives!
Movin' On In!
I can hardly believe it, but we've actually moved in! The house is done, the final inspection complete, and we've moved all of our belongings ~ all 400 million of them. We still have loan paperwork to tackle {which is a lot bigger task than it sounds}, all that goes along with selling our old manufactured home that sits right smack dab in front of our new house, and dealing with county issues regarding the moving of the manufactured home. Whew! It's going to be a busy couple of months. But at least the house is finished, and the move in complete. One step at a time, right?
Move In
Move In 2
These were taken before total chaos ensued. I didn't realize how much stuff we had!
Move In 3
Yesterday morning we actually enjoyed breakfast in our new home.
Move In 4
And a couple photos of Kam from this morning before my doctor appointment. I just have to share them because she looked so dang cute just eating her toast :)
Move In 5
Move In 6
So . . . what have I missed?
Better
Our week has definitely improved, thank you SO much for the sweet comments and emails. I miss the blog world so much. I miss documenting our lives, I miss checking in on y'all. But I am trying to make peace with the fact that this just happens to be a very very busy season of life for us. We are officially in the final stages of house building. We still don't have an exact move-in date, but it has to be soon. Our microwave was just installed today, for heaven's sake. We're equipped to pop popcorn, I'd say we're ready to move in! ;) In all honesty, we probably have a couple more weeks. The way things have been going, maybe even a few more weeks. Everything takes so much longer than you anticipate. But it's just around the corner.
Other things that have been keeping us occupied:
All of the {horribly frustrating, time-consuming, and stressful} aspects of dealing with refinancing and mortgage loans. Prayers would be greatly appreciated, if you feel so inclined.
A new bible study. I started Beth Moore's ~ Esther. Oh how I love it! Seriously, this is my favorite so far. It seems that some of y'all have done this one. If not, I HIGHLY recommend it. And I'm only on week 2.
The {FABULOUS} Photographers' Workshop ~ with Karen Russell. Did I mention I won an auditing spot in this class? I have wanted to take a photography class/workshop for a long time. And I'm THRILLED to be enrolled this session ~ even if it is during the busiest time of my life, lol! Hey, giveaway winners can't be choosers. ;)
And, of course, this happens to be a busy birthday season for us as well. We had a lovely birthday celebration for Kam last weekend. Everyone was feeling better, and ready for some partyin'! :) I'll leave you with a couple of pictures:
Warning: More House Pictures
Thought I should put a disclaimer out there for y'all who don't want to see the millionth installment of our building pictures. Hence the warning.
You're very welcome. ;)
So, here it is! We've started siding. It is officially starting to look like a real house on the outside!
And there you have it. A little mini update. I'm thinking this siding business is a much bigger job than anyone anticipated. You can't tell so much from the pictures, but our house is very very tall. And that Tyvek paper is a pain in the you-know-what. I'm sorry, but I don't want Jeremy up there, three stories high, swinging from unstable ladder to unstable ladder. No thank you.
Anyway.
We are headed out for a play date with friends. Hopefully it will involve a pool as it is supposed to be near 100 degrees today.
I'll be back soon ;)
A{nother} House Update
It's time for another house update! It's been awhile, hasn't it?
This will be short and sweet, as there isn't too much to report.
The framing is complete, the windows installed, and HVAC is underway. In the next few weeks we will work on siding and electrical, and hopefully we'll be ready for insulation and sheet rock by the start of Fall. Progress, yay!
Here are our stairs. We're pretty excited to have stairs ;)
And the view of the left side of the house.
I mentioned before that it's almost impossible to get a front shot due to the fact that our current home is smack dab in front of it. And when I say smack, I mean it. Can you see it?
Hopefully I'll have more to report soon!
House Pictures
Okay, seriously, I know you guys are getting tired of the house updates, so I will try not to post any more for a little while. But . . . the trusses came the other day, and our house is really beginning to look like . . . a house! :)
I can't help but post a few pics.
Our side wall had to be lifted by crane.
Ta-da! There it is.
The first truss going up.
And the last.
A side view.
And a view from the front. Kind of. It's hard to get a good frontal picture, as our current home is right.in.front. of it!
So, that's that! All caught up on house pictures. In a week or so we'll have windows!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In other news, my sister arrived this afternoon and the kiddos have been having way too much fun playing. My inbox is overflowing and I'm missing my blog friends, but I'll be back soon ;)

Hope y'all are enjoying Summer!

We've got walls . . .

Just a quick house update for y'all :)
We've got {some} walls up, WOO-HOO!!!

Now if the rain would just hold off for a few days maybe we could get the rest of it framed! :)

House Updates

It's been a little while since my last house update. Mostly because our weather has left a lot to be desired which has resulted in some delays. {That and we've had non-weather related delays too. Isn't that just the way?}. But since many of you have asked. Here ya go.
You're welcome, Julie ;)

The start of the rough plumbing. Woohooo! {Who knew you could be so excited over plumbing?}

This will be our basement. Can you see the stairs through there? Stairs! We are big time, people.

And a little side shot.

This is how it will stay for a few days. We are waiting for approval from the county before we proceed much further. In a couple of weeks {fingers crossed} it's actually going to look like a house!!

Wordful Wednesday ~ House Update

Three things about this photo that make me happy:

1. Sunshine! Do you see it?? This was taken on the 17th. I'm pretty sure that was the last day we've seen even a ray of sun. Have I mentioned my irritation with the weather? {Oh, I have, haven't I? Well, I'm going to mention it again}. This is the coldest May we've had in over ten years, and the wettest in five. And, oh yeah, one day last week was the coldest "high" they've ever recorded. That's nice.

2. Because of the cooperative weather, we were able to pour our stem walls. Yay! The foundation is done!! Now we are waiting {not so patiently, I'm afraid} for a little break from the rain so that we can weatherproof the basement and pour the basement floor. Then, we can move on to framing!

3. That's my hubby up there on that ladder. Isn't he handsome?? ;) That's the guy who goes to work for 24 hours straight at the fire station, and then comes home {often with very little sleep} to see his girls, and then put in another two full days of work on the house before going back to the fire station. Yeah, I'm blessed.
