Where did this girl come from?

So, I'm kind of a baby when it comes to bees {and most other flying things, also insects, and the absolute worst ~ spiders! YUCK!}. When I find them in my house, I most often spray them to death with Lysol so that I can keep my distance. {Is that cruel?}

Today we found a bee on the window near Makenna's bed. It was on its last leg anyway, but I thought I would do him in with the Lysol. I sprayed, and then left him for later when I bring out the vacuum. I'll suck him up then, I think to myself. I walk back to the table to get back to homeschooling with Sierra. In comes Makenna.

Makenna: Are you going to do anything else with the bee?

Me: Yeah, I'm going to vacuum him up in a bit.

Makenna: You're not going to cut him up with a knife and eat him?

Me {Quite disgusted at the thought}: Um, no. That sounds a little gross.

Makenna: Why? {Truly perplexed}

Me: Because we don't eat bees {or Lysol, for that matter}

Makenna: Well, you can still cut him up and put him in the garbage.

Me: How about I just throw him in the garbage?

Sigh. Any confusion as to why it is only 11am and I already have a headache?

Has she ever been stung? My guess is she wants that sucker good and dead so it can't do any harm to any of you.

In my household the boys are big bug wimps...so i get to dispose of them...yippee for me...not! lol.

That reminds me of a really gross story. . . Want to hear it? Too bad!
I'll tell you anyway! :)

At my inlaws one year there must have been a wasps nest right next to the upstairs window and a hole in the screen because wasps just kept getting in. This was a problem because this is the room where all the kids play. So my nephew took it upon himself to be the exterminator. He took a knife and cut them all in half. Totally gross right? Well, there is a shelf right beneath the window, and it was on this shelf he was doing the cutting. I think he cleaned up most of the body parts, but he missed a few. A few hours later I hear screaming coming from upstairs. My girls come and get me to tell me that HALF a wasp has crawled off the shelf. I went to inspect. The front half of one of the wasps was still alive and walking around. I was very happy to put it out of it's misery. And my girls still talk about the half a wasp.

The end.

You have never eaten a bee? They are so yummy. LOL kidding of course. Glad you got rid of that bee. WE were stung too many times this summer by them.

My favorite part was the sigh and 'is there any wonder I already have a headache'? That is my life, my friend, my life in a nutshell :)

We have been infested with paper wasps this fall. No lie, last month I was sucking up 20+ a day with the vacuum. Pest control people weren't much help, but they did assure me I do not have a nest in my walls & that the wasps will die off after the first hard frost (should be this week). Here's hoping.
