Much Too Fast

Yesterday, as I sat nursing my baby girl at naptime, I was drawn to her little hands. Her tiny little {chub} hands are so soft and sweet. So delicate. It made me wonder what her hands might look like in a few years. Bigger, of course. Would they reach out to me the same way they do now? Fit so perfectly in my own?

This little sugarplum is growing before my very eyes. And while I love that she's growing, and healthy, it makes me a little sad because it's all going by much too fast.

Not so tiny anymore, she's definitely got a BIG personality that is all her own.

Those little hands. One day they'll be grown.

She's fourteen months today.

It's all going much too fast.

Hair Clips Galore!

I love to make hair clips. They may just be my favorite craft/creation. I love that they don't take long to make. I love that you don't have to have a million supplies. I love that you can carry everything you need in one little pouch. I love that you can craft them anywhere ~ while waiting for an appointment, during your daughter's dance class, naptime. That is, if your children are nappers. Kameryn has decided she doesn't need naps anymore. But that's another story.
Let's get a move on, so that you can make yourself some hair clippies. But, I don't have any little girls, you say. Not a problem. I wear these clips, myself, and I love 'em. I surely do.

You're going to need a little wool felt, embroidery floss, snap clip, and needle. Oh, and scissors wouldn't hurt ;)

You may want embellishments.

First, you cut two pieces of felt. A top and a bottom. I use the snap clip as a guide, and leave about 1/4" around the entire clip.

Poke a little hole near the back of one piece so that you can slide the open clip through.

Slide the clip through, and snap closed.

Next, take the top piece and add your embellishement. I found these Amy Butler Brads at Joanns. I love them. Really, they make me happier than should reasonably be allowed.

See? Adorable, right?

Place the top piece of felt on the bottom piece that is holding the snap clip.

Thread your needle and start stitching. I use a blanket stitch because I like the look. Feel free to use whichever stitch you choose ;)

And voila!

Snap it in your hair, and you're ready to go!

Easy, Fast, Fun! Now go on, make yourself a hair clip or two.

I'm linking up to Jen @ Tatertots and Jello Weekend Wrap Up Party. Head on over and check out the awesomeness, whydon'tcha!

Catch Up

It feels like there's so much that I've been meaning to post, and I just keep forgetting. First there was the gorgeous weather which meant our time was spent enjoying life outdoors. Then we had a little bit of craft fun {which I promised to post!}. And, well, let's not forget about the super bug I got hit with last week.

Anyway, let's update, shall we?

We've had some glorious sunshine-y days! We can't help but get outside for nature walks and swinging.

We spent a couple of days crafting our little hearts out. We made these adorable little bunnies, remember? And a basket and eggs out of paper, {the girls are going to write some of the things they are thankful for on each egg.}

I also found more of this adorable oil cloth and am making new placemats for the girls.

I love oil cloth :)

And once I can get my act {and more wool felt} together, I have another project/tutorial for y'all!

In other news . . .

This little muffin wore her first piggies last week :)

And . . .

Is a big walkin' girl now!

We've also been busy having camp-outs on the floor on the nights that Daddy is at work.

And, oh yeah, making White Chocolate Covered Strawberries for Jeremy . . .

Because it was our anniversary yesterday ;)

Happy 8 years to us!

So, catch me up! What have y'all been up to?

i♥ faces ~ Focusing on Angles

This week's photo challenge at I Heart Faces is: Focusing on Angles.

Unusual angles are fun and cool...and they make your photo stand out from the rest of the pack.

I just love this photo of Sis blowing out her candles on her 7th birthday.

Now go on, check out some of the {many!} entries over at I Heart Faces!

Friend Makin' Monday ~ Spring Is Here!

I'm BACK! {I think}

I'm starting to feel a little better,

and am so happy to be able to sit here and participate in FMM!

Head on over to Amber's to join in. This week we're talking about SPRING!

1. Favorite things about Spring:

Birds singing, sun shining, flowers in bloom, fresh cut grass, saying good-bye to winter clothes!

2. What I'm doing for Spring Break:

We are homeschoolers, and originally we had planned on taking our Spring Break this week right along with everyone else in Oregon. But at the last minute {today, in fact} we decided to wait a week and take our break next week. I'm still really tired, not feeling great, and we didn't have anything exciting planned anyway. Next week, if we decide to head out, we won't have to battle crowds, and hopefully we'll see nicer weather. I love having the option.

3. Favorite Spring flower:

Tulips. I love tulips. But I also love daffodils {aren't they the cheeriest?}

4. Do you have a garden?

I do not. Sadly, I have no green thumb :(

5. If so, what do you grow?

We do plant strawberries {you can't kill those no matter how hard you try, so they're perfect for me!}, and the girls love picking them all summer long. My mom has a garden, and she lives right next door, so we are blessed with lots of tomatoes, beans, peas, and corn.

6. Do you do Spring cleaning?

Not really. But I should!

7. What is your weather *really* like right now? {Just b/c it's "officially" spring, doesn't mean that it feels like it for some of you}

We had a beautiful weekend {ya know, when I was sick in bed}. Gorgeous sunshiney days near 70 degrees. Now we're back to cool, wind, and rain. Blech.

8. Snapped any weather related photos lately? Share one with us!

I am so sad to say that I haven't touched my camera in about a week! But that's going to change!! For now, I'll leave you with some oldies ;)

First signs of Spring!

Ahhh, I love these trees.

9. What's your favorite thing to do on a sunny afternoon?

Lately we've been going on nature walks. We are on 20 acres out in the country, and my parents own the adjoining 20 acres. It's a lot of room to roam around, and we love it.

10. Favorite TV show right now?

I don't watch TV :)

What do you love about Spring?

You Know You're *Really* Sick When . . .

* You can't muster the energy to get out of bed. For days.

* Sitting upright to get on the laptop for a few minutes is a chore you just can't tackle.

* Your inbox overflows, and you don't even have the energy to care.

* You actually wish you could stand to do laundry and dishes because you {gasp!} miss them.

* The dance team that your sister coaches is AWESOME this year, and you can't even make it to the state competition to attend :(

* You otherwise cannot stand the thought of an afternoon nap, but now can't keep your eyes open to avoid one.

* You completely neglect your bloggy friends even during super fun parties you swore you'd "attend". Sigh.

* You can't even properly take care of your own children. Talk about feeling like a horrible mom. I used to kind of chuckle when moms would talk about getting a cold and having to send their kids to the grandparents so they could rest. Secretly I'd kind of roll my eyes and think "good grief, it's a cold. And you can't even take care of your children?" Never folks. Never again will I judge. Ever.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, I'm feeling a bit better today. I can get up off the couch now, hooray! I will try to post soon about the craftiness that went on here last week.
Have a great weekend!
