Confession Time

I have a confession to make . . . {though some of you may already know}.

Wait for it . . .

Wait for it . . .

I don't exercise.

{GASP!}

I know. I know. I should. I just . . . don't. {Colleen? Are you there? Can we still be friends?}

I haven't always been this way. Obviously when I was doing the Miss USA thing I exercised. Like crazy, really. And even after Sierra was born. I exercised every day. Every.single.day.without.fail. But then I got pregnant with Kenners. I was put on bedrest at 13 weeks, and my exercise habit came to a screeching halt. Once Makenna was born I was out of the habit and I had a newborn. And a two year old. Exercise just wasn't at the top of the ol' priority list. And ever since, {I am so embarassed to say}, I haven't had a regular exercise routine. Or even a semi-regular exercise routine. Sure, I'd start back up before, like, our trip to Hawaii. And I might throw in a little aerobic activity before bathing suit season. But that's it, folks.

So, here's the deal. I'm actually pretty happy with my weight, but I really need to get in shape. I thought if I came here to confess, maybe I'd be held accountable. And maybe I'd even get a little support? Encouragement? Opionions on what has worked for others? If you love to exercise {or even if you don't, but you do it anyway}, please share. I'd love to hear about your experiences. What works for you {what doesn't work for you}, and if you're an aerobics girl, like myself, which dvds you enjoy {and which you hate, so I can stay away from those}.

Whew! It feels so much better to get that off my chest ;)

Oh girl, I HATE exercise. I go in spurts (usually when the weather is nice) and then I get bored or it's to hot or cold outside and I quit. My advice...mix it up. That's all I got. Sorry.

I am so bad about exercising. I have gained some weight, so I just started this week with trying to exercise more.

I try to do things like cut the grass and wash the car. That way I feel like I'm actually getting something accomplished too.

As far as DVDs go, I really like Leslie Sansone Walk At Home. All of hers are great. They range from an easy 1 mile to a very challenging 5 mile. I actually used to be able to do the 4 mile! I can't even believe that now.

I just tried a Denise Austin DVD last night and couldn't stand her voice. However, my abs are killing me, so it must have worked.

I'm not a fan of exercise. I have always said that chasing three kids is exercise enough but last week I had a doctors appt and got some news I did not want to hear...she said I need to exercise. I'm at the "perfect" weight she said but I have been getting reoccuring ovarian cysts that are bothersome. The only cure is going on birth control or exercise. sigh. So I started running. I hate to admit it...but i feel better. Now I'm on a mission for GREAT Christian music with a beat that I can download. :D It's nice to get out. I did the 30 day shred video and got bored. I think that's my biggest problem: boredom. So, with running, I change up the scenery. And I get out. Did I mention that already?? :D

I run...but I think you know that.

The best advise I have is...know that you will have times like this...

and...

action does not come from motivation, but motivation comes from action.

Once you start...a reasonable work out schedule...you will find your mojo again.

You rock with your confession!!!

I hate to exercise, but I do like the Shred. It is painful but quick and doesn't take alot of time.

I've found that I can always find 30 minutes to fit it in. Longer than that and it becomes a chore and too easy to skip. I love the Shred because in 25 minutes it will whip your muscles into shape (you should SEE my arms!) - but it's not really enough cardio so I run too. Love the FIRM Power Yoga DVD (30 minutes, and as you get older my friend you may appreciate how lovely you feel afterwords!) and you can usually run 3 miles in 30 minutes. Couple of times a week and you're good!

Hmmmm, not only are we still friends - but I'll be your biggest supporter as you try to get in shape again! Although I do hate you a little for being so thin without having to exercise like crazy ;)

My only tip is to join a gym and take their kickboxing classes. It's a great stress reliever, and because I am paying for it, it makes me go all the time!

Miss USA? I had guessed supermodel.

I need to get back into the habit but I sold my eliptical today.

This time last year I was running/walking first thing in the morning and I felt great!
