Awards and Tea Parties

The boys are still gone.

And though we miss Jerm,

we continue to enjoy our girl time.

Shopping, check.

Crafting, check.

Library trip, check.

Sleep-out on the floor, check.check.check.

Pedicures, check.

Tea Party, check.

After homeschool today Sierra decided she wanted to host a tea party.

For us girls.

We baked sugar cookies {with some help from Pillsbury},

made mini pretzel princess wands,

and boiled water for tea.

Even Nana stopped by.

Pretzel sticks dipped in white chocolate and then rolled in sprinkles make the best princess wands, don'tchathink?

Sierra made the "place cards"

Our spread ;)

It was a good day.

Honesty is the BEST Policy

Chrissy at A Lil' Dash of Diva has presented me with this lovely award . . .
Thanks so much, Chrissy!

I am required to tell y'all ten things that you may not know about me, and tag ten others.

Here we go!

1. I graduated from high school a year early at the ripe ol' age of 16.

2. I started dance lessons at the age of three, and continued some form of dance, studio/dance team/coaching/ until I got married and started a family. I do miss it.

3. I left for a two weeks trip to Europe (England, France, and Spain) the day of my 16th birthday.

4. I am not a party girl in any sense of the word. I just don't enjoy that scene.

5. I have always wanted a big family {say 5 or 6 children, not necessarily 20 children, just to clarify).

6. I expect a lot from a friendship. This has resulted in some disappointment in the past.

7. I was asked to journal for Storknet throughout my pregnancy with Kameryn. I am so happy I did, as I now have those journals to help me remember all the little things about pregnancy that you sometimes forget.

8. I married my childhood sweetheart.

9. I competed, as Miss Oregon, in the 2000 Miss USA pageant.

10. I am secretly terrified of having to go back to work someday. I know it's inevitable, but I would be happy to keep home and raise children forever ;)

Alright, I'm tagging . . . anyone who wants to play! I'm pretty sure this has been passed along to most bloggers I know, so consider yourself tagged if you have not yet participated! :)

Mom to the Rescue! Annnd more awards.

Sooooo, I realize that you are all probably sick of my ramblings about my computer, BUT I'm continuing them anyway :) My parents also have a desktop and laptop, and they were so kind as to let us borrow their laptop while they are camping. YAY! Hopefully by the time they return we will have some answers regarding ours. Mom to the rescue again, thanks Mom!

And now, for another award! Staci from Playing House sent this one my way. Thanks Staci!!!

I must list 7 personality traits about myself and I must pass this award onto others.

Here we go:

1. I can get emotional over the littlest thing. I cry over almost everything. While reading a children's book to the girls, while watching commercials, EVERYTHING. It's not pretty.

2. I am a worrier. I come by this naturally {my mom is the biggest worrier around}. I am working on handing my worries over to the Lord.

3. I have a terrible memory. Terrible. I would love to blame this on having three children, but alas, I've always been this way.

4. I enjoy being at home. While I love taking a vacation, or going on a shopping trip {I'm re-thinking this one after the last several shopping trips I've been on!}, I really don't mind being at home most of the time.

5. I'm going to have to agree with Staci. I love the fresh air, I love the sunshine. I love being able to be outdoors. BUT this does not make me outdoorsy. I'm not in love with camping and such. I'm pretty much a girly girl who doesn't like to get dirty.

6. I used to be organized. Now I'm not :) I used to make lists of everything I need to do. Now I just wander aimlessly.

7. I was made to be a mom. No doubt about it, it is the only job I was made to do. I love everything about it. {Yes, even the diaper changes}.

I pass this award on to:
Kristn at Dolan Dog Days (she's hoping to have some down time this week due to surgery. Please keep her in prayer)

I Feel Like a Queen . . .

All these awards floating around, and can I be honest . . . I still feel so new to the blogging world {though I realize I'm not}, that I don't always know what to do with them ;) Is there a "blog etiquette course I can take??? Because I'm pretty sure that forgetting to put up an award I received weeks ago, not knowing enough bloggers to pass on said award, etc. makes me a big loser . . . pretty much the opposite of someone actually deserving the award in the first place. But I digress {as usual}.

I want to thank Vivienne at The V Spot for this Fabulous Award!

Now I must list 5 of my least favorite things:

1. Gardening ~ Sorry Mom, but I just cannot get into it. I don't really love getting dirty, and the weed-pulling. Ick, it's just not for me.

2. Rudeness {is that a word?}. Why can't people be polite and courteous, and {gasp} think of others every once in awhile?

3. Telemarketers. Why, oh why, must they wait until 8:30 at night to call?

4. Going to the dentist and doctor

5. Clipping babies fingernails. I may or may not have clipped Sierra's skin when she was a baby, which may have contributed to my fear of nail clippers in general.

Time to pass this award along:

Jenny at Our Nifty Notebook

Amber at aefilkins

Kelly at Parenting Princesses

Speaking of Jenny, she nominated me for this award. Thank you so much!

Rules of the Award:

Admit one thing you feel awful about involving being a mom. Get it off your shoulders. Once you've written it down, you are no longer allowed to feel bad. It's over with, it's in the past. Remember, you're a good mom!

I often find myself "shhhh"ing my four year old. I hate that I do it, and I feel horrible afterward, but she always picks the moments when I'm putting my 4 month old to sleep to come running into the room with some news that just cannot wait. I don't want her to feel like she can't be heard {already she's the "middle child", gasp!}.

Remind yourself you are a good mom, list seven things you love about your kids, you love doing with your kids, or that your kids love about you. These are the things to remind yourself everyday that you Rock!

1. I love playing "Beauty Shop" with my girls. They just adore giving me a makeover, and how can you argue with someone who wants to brush out your hair?

2. I love that my daughters are girlie girls. They love to dress up, and my six year old always asks for me to paint her nails. Of course we pretend that I am a beauty shopkeeper, and she's having a "medicure" {I think that's a cross between pedicure and manicure?}. It's so much fun!

3. I love that my daughters are so compassionate. Whether it's a hurt animal or a family we're praying for, they have these enormous feelings that melt my heart.

4. I love our snuggle time at night. On the nights that Jeremy is at the station, we have "girl night". We get into bed about 8pm, and watch a movie together or read stories.

5. I love playing games with them. My oldest, especially, loves board games and card games of any kind. Her favorites right now are "Sorry" and "Uno".

6. I love waking up next to my 4 month old each morning. There's nothing better than opening your eyes to a smiling baby.

7. I love that my two older daughters actually fight over my youngest daughter. {This is the only kind of fighting I find the least bit endearing}. They both love her so much they want to be right on top of her giving her loves and kisses.

And now, allow me to pass this award along to:

Jen at Harried Mom of Four

Colleen at Martin Family Moments

Xazmin at This is the Year

You Make A Girl Feel So Special

Wow, I am feeling all sorts of special these days as I have been given a second award in just one week! Honestly, I'm shocked that anyone even reads my ramblings (especially after yesterday's Wordless Wednesday mishap!). But I am so honored to receive this Splash award from Jen at Harried Mom of Four. "Alluring, amusing, bewitching, impressive and inspiring". What?! You've obviously got the wrong girl, sister-friend!

I so enjoy the visits and comments that ya'all leave for me. They truly give me warm-fuzzies and just make my day (especially on a particularly exhausting one). Thanks again, Jen, you are a kick in the pants, and I love following all your adventures!

Without further ado, I pass this award on to:

Staci

Gratitude

Thanks so much to Jen, and Xazmin for bestowing upon me, the Attitude of Gratitude Award.

The Rules of Accepting and Sharing this Award

1.Put the logo on your blog or post

2. Nominate at least 10 blogs that show an attitude of gratitude

3. Link to your nominees within your post

4.Comment on their blogs to let them know they've received this award

5.Share the love and link to this post and the person who nominated you for the award.

Tell us how you've come to have an attitude of gratitude

I truly have so much to be grateful for. A wonderful husband who works terribly hard so that I may be at home with our precious princesses. He has put his dream of building a house on hold because he knows how important it is to me to be at home, homeschooling and raising our children. I'm equally grateful for my daughters. They are the sweetest children I could ask for, and such a blessing to me. Mostly I am grateful to the Lord, for He has given me all of these blessings.

Now, I'm fairly new to the blogging world, and I don't know too many of ya'all (and those of you I do know, have already received this lovely award), so I will pass this along to a few other special ladies.

Kristen, Michele, Flo, Jodi, and McVal

Thanks gals, I love keepin' up with ya!
