Kam's Big Day

The big girls had an invite to spend a couple of hours with their cousin, today, so Kam and I took the opportunity to have a little bit of special time, just the two of us. 

Well, not just the two of us.

Tay was here too.

But Miss Taylor went down for a nap, you see.

So . . . a whole hour and a half to ourselves!

 

We started with a little of this . . .

And ended with this:
 

Then we thought up a little snack.
A princess-y Valentine-y kind of snack
{to go with our princess-y, Valentine-y toes!}

Vanilla Cupcake Fishies with . . . .
Pink Vanilla Frosting {and sprinkles.  Y'all know our love of sprinkles}.
 

Sandwich those babies together, and you've got a very special snack :)



Of course, you have to have a special drink to go with the special snack
{and the special toes, yadda yadda}.
 

Could you guess that it was going to involve sprinkles?
{Crushed ice, a splash of heavy cream, fill to the top with Cranberry Ginger Ale, and top with whipped cream.  And sprinkles.  Of course.}
 

It got Kam's seal of approval.
 

Once we hydrated, we were ready to tackle some crafting.
On the agenda: headbands.
 

 And in celebration of reaching 52 degrees today  . . .
A little walk in the sunshine.
 

 

 

 We had a super fabulous day!

One Of Those Days

You know those days when you have to drag yourself out of bed,
it's raining {again. still?},
your little one is working on getting teeth, and is miserable,

you have to grocery shop, and it takes you more than two hours,
plus another hour to put it all away when you get home,
and it's just . . . just . . . one of those days?

Me neither.

But, if I did . . .

I'd make one of these:
{you know, just to cheer me up.  Because food cheers me up, what can I say?}



Orange Creamsicle
{cubes of ice, a splash of cream, orange soda,
stir it all together, add some whipped cream, and sprinkles, and voila!}

Come to think of it, it's pretty delicious on a good day too.

And the little lovies . . . they think it's somethin' special.

{No real oranges were used in the making of this drink. 
It is not healthy in any way.

{Almost} Wordless Wednesday ~ Pink Drinks

The girls are always talking me into making some sort of fancy drink for them.

The other day, we came up with this:

♥ Pink Lemonade with a splash of 7 Up. 

♥ Stir in a touch of heavy cream,

♥ add a handful of mini marshmallows

♥ and a sprinkling of pink sugar crystals, and voila!

{I'm not so good at wordless}

Happy Thoughts

Last week was . . . not so good.

This week will be better. It's looking up already.

I see sunshine out my windows, hear fewer coughs from my girls,

and life seems to be getting back to normal.

The other day, when we weren't feeling great enough to go out,

but we needed something to do, we made Christmas gift tags.

The girls had a lot of fun.

Sierra was pretty serious about it :)

Even Kam helped. She was in charge of the hole punch.
