San Diego Part 2

Oh my goodness, y'all.  I've just spent two days trying to figure out what the heck happened to my poor little blog.  I could sign in, I could type a blog title, but I couldn't for-the-life-of-me get a cursor to appear so that I could type a body for the post!  I thought it was a Blogger issue, so I reported it {along with quite a few others}, and just sat and waited for them to fix it.

Guess what. 

 It wasn't a Blogger issue. 

 It was a Liz issue. 

Sigh.

But after a little detective work {clearing my cache}, I think I've finally fixed it!  Whoohoooo!

Ahem.

And with that out of my system, I can finally continue on with Part 2 of our San Diego trip:

Have I mentioned that we spent a LOT of time at Seaport Village?  We're having shopping withdrawls these days :)

The girls found the most adorable bath and body shop.  The ladies in the store insisted on letting them have a sugar scrub treatment on their hands. 

And they loved every minute of it!

And, of course, another group photo.  I don't think I've been in this many photos in . . . ever!

After another day of shopping, we explored the hotel.  It is such a gorgeous hotel with so much to explore!

And for dinner, we headed across the street to Kansas City Barbecue.  Jeremy's favorite place because of the movie that was filmed there:

Tuesday {full day #3} was spent on Coronado.  What a gorgeous, gorgeous beach.


Someone had their first experience in the sand.


And she thought it was pretty spectacular.

She may have even tried a nibble of it.

And, of course, there was a lot of splashing.  You cannot go to the beach and not have splashing.

After a bit {and a long hike}, it was time to head back across the bay.

I haven't had the chance to write up Makenna's birthday post due to my strange blog issues the last couple of days.  But I'm going to work on it right away.  It's her BIRTHDAY today!!!!  She will be 7 years old shortly after noon.  Sigh.  Where does the time go?????

San Diego Part 1

So.  I took a lot of pictures while we were in San Diego. 

Nearly 700, actually. 

Mmmhmmm.  That's a lot of pictures to be sortin' through, let me just tell ya.

So far I've just chosen a few {40+} of my favorites, with hopes that somehow I'll acquire an extra 4 or 5 hours in my day {someday} that I can devote to photo sorting. 

Here we go:  San Diego, Part 1

Our first couple of days were spent walking around our hotel.  The hotel we were staying in was literally right behind Seaport Village ~ an adorable village of shops and restaurants right on the bay.  Truth be told, the girls could've spent the entire trip there.  All of them love to shop and walk around.  At the end of our day, we'd meet up with hubs and Mom/Grandma for dinner.  Did I mention that Jeremy's brother's girlfriend came along?  How fun was that!  The girls LOVED hanging with her all day.

On Sunday night we took a carriage ride around the city.  The girls definitely felt like princesses.

And Monday, we were ready for more shopping.

But a girl's gotta eat.  So we took a break to find a snack.

Not long after sitting down, we had a little visitor.

A couple, in fact.

Blue Icee!  My favorite!

Stephanie had to play tough guy, and have a little chit chat with Mr. Duck to let him know that stealing our snacks was completely unacceptable behavior.

 

He didn't take it too well, and instead of leaving, he called in reinforcements.

So. 

We had to do the same.

Kam gave him what for, while this little guy watched the show:

Luckily we all parted peacefully.

♥ 8 Months ♥

Miss Tay . . . you are 8 Months Old today!

Girl, you are getting SO big.

{I know I totally missed focus here, but I couldn't help share it.  She's so stinkin' adorable!}

You are racing to keep up with your big sissies. 
Trying to crawl, feed yourself, jabbering LOUDLY {to be sure you're heard too} waving.

You are into everything. 
Oh do we have to watch you closely. 
And now that you're semi-mobile, you can scoot yourself to whatever you choose.

You've got the biggest, bluest, most gorgeous eyes ever. {People tell you so all.the.time.} 
And the fuzziest, straightest, craziest hair. 
It's pretty much adorable.



We're going through a liiiiiitle bit of separation anxiety {even though we're literally never separated}. 

Oh how you loved our trip to San Diego.  I'd plop you right in the Ergo about 8 o'clock, and there you stayed {taking everything in} for the rest of the day.  You love to be on the go, and you adored the sunshine.

Project 52: Week 7 ~ TRUE LOVE

Okay.  We just got back from vacation last night, so I am completely unorganized {think piles of laundry flowing out of the laundry room, suitcases strewn about}.  I had the best intentions of putting a lot of thought into this week's theme: True Love.  But, did I mention we were on vacation?  Yeah.  All coherent thoughts go out the window, and I just focus on VACAY!!! WOOHOOO!

Nonetheless . . .
This is true love to me:

Nearly 10 years of marriage, four babies, three houses, and about 435 million memories.  And I can honestly, honestly say that I love this man more now than ever before. {Siiiiiiggghhhhhhh}.

Vacay!

We made it!

Two flights, a taxi ride, hotel-room-switcharoo, and we're finally settled.

Not too many rays to be soaked up here in Cali, but we're enjoying it nonetheless!

Project 52: Week 6 ~ Drink Up!

Well, I'm just going to tell you right now, that my photos for Project 52 keep getting worse :( 
Be warned.

In my defense, though . . . well, actually, I don't have a defense.  We're just really busy here getting ready for vacay {yay!}, homeschooling, errands, and life's basics. 

Side story:

We were visiting friends last week, and got into this very discussion {about things being crazy busy right now}, and I worked up the nerve to ask if it was just me or if  the 6-12 month stage is a little . . . exhausting for anyone else.  Now.  Do not get me wrong.  I LOVE this age.  I do.  But Tay is going through a bit of a trying time right now.  She's not real content.  I truly believe that she sees her big sissies running around, playing, having fun, and wants so badly to join them.  Add to that the fact that on the very rare instances that I can set her down for a few minutes, she's into EVERYTHING.  Miss Priss can army crawl like nobody's business.  And her index-thumb dexterity is seriously amazing.  She can spot little Barbie shoes and hair clips from a mile away, scoot her little booty over to them, and grab 'em up, pop 'em in her mouth, all in about 1.3 seconds.  You gotta watch this one like a hawk, I tell ya.  So by the end of the day . . . well, I'm completely worn out.

Wow.  Long side story.  All that to say ~ not a lot of time to pick up the camera for anything more than a snap these days ;)

Week 6 ~ Drink On Up, Y'all!

Yesterday we did a little grocery shopping, and thought we deserved a little treat.

I Love This Age

I may have mentioned before, but I ♥ LOVE ♥ the 2-4 age range.
Little ones are so much fun. 
They keep you on your toes.  And they come up with the FUNNIEST things!

Take this little Miss, for example.
Oh she is a bundle of energy.

Do you notice the black streaks above her eyebrows?  Mmmhmm.  She insisted on painting them on with black eyeliner, "like mama".  I can assure you, my browliner actually makes it onto my brows.




She comes up with the funniest things, Miss Kam does.  Lately, when she's thirsty, she's been saying: "I'm drinky".  Drinky. Not thirsty.  Nope.  Drinky.  And she's always humbry {hungry}.  Until she's taken a bite of her meal.  Then she's stuffed.  The other day my mom joked that Kameryn is hungry and stuffed about 100 times daily.



Little Miss is really into playing pretend these days.  Or, as she likes to call it: 'tend. 
She's all about the princesses and the prince charmings. 
And she always calls dibs on the princess role, which means that one of us must be prince charming. 
The other morning us girls were getting ready, and Kam insisted on playing "'tend". 

Kam: Kenna.  Kenna?  Kenna?!  Kenna!!!???  Wanna play 'tend?
{She'll just keep repeating herself until you acknowledge her with eye contact AND verbal confirmation}
Kenners: {sigh} Ohhhhkay.
Kam:  My be Princess Ariel, you be Prince Charming.  Okay?
Kenners: {Nods}.
Kam: HEY! PRINCE CHARMING!!  GET UP HERE ON THIS BED AND CUDDLE ME!

Ohhhhh dear.  She's a demanding little princess, isn't she?

I'm going to have to remember to start writing these things down. 
Time goes by so quickly, you know.

{Not So} Wordless Wednesday ~ Littles

I call these two, my Littles.

The littlest of my girlies.

They love each other quite a bit.

Okay, sometimes one can frighten the other, just a tad.

Hey, Mama, what are you always doin' behind that big black box??!

But I just know they are going to be the best of pals!

Up To

Oh goodness.

Are the days getting shorter, or is my to do list getting longer? 

Or both?

It's official. 

The first couple of months of the year are definitely our busiest. 

{Of course, if you ask me again in a few months, my answer might be different}

A few things we've been up to:

Baking cookies.
We had some M&Ms left over from Kam's party, and I couldn't think of a yummier way to use 'em up. 

Packaging photography orders.



Did y'all know that you can sew paper?  Oh yes, you can. 



I made a few folders from scrapbook paper. 
Sierra thought I was crazy, but I rather like the way they turned out.



Mostly, though, we've been doing this:




We've had sunshine and temps in the mid/high fifties for nearly a week. 
It's been gorgeous!



Kam couldn't be happier.  Little Love is soakin' it all up!

Project 52: Week 5 ~ Shadows

I REALLY procrastinated this week. 
I had every intention of putting a lot of effort into it, but alas, our week was busy, I was tired, and picking up my camera just wasn't at the tippy top of my priority list.

But today . . .
We had SUNSHINE! 
Hooray for sunshine. 
We get so very little of it in the Pacific Northwest. 
We headed outside and there were shadows galore.
