San Diego 2017

Oh my lands.
With so much going on this year, I completely spaced blogging our San Diego trip.

It has definitely been a whirlwind of a year, and it's barely June!

We started January off with a trip to Disneyland ,
came home to celebrate Kameryn's 8th birthday,
and then basically turned right around to fly to San Diego for a week.

Poor Jerm wound up with a virus before leaving, and we kept praying it'd get better.
No such luck.
He was miserable for most of our trip, right up until we made a stop at Urgent Care.
A sinus and ear infection, plus bronchitis diagnosis meant a strong dose of antibiotics.
And he was feeling much better juuuuuuust as it was time to head home.
But there were many great memories made just the same.

The trip was actually a work conference for Jeremy,
so he was tied up for several hours each day, which meant some exploring for us girls.
Our hotel opened up RIGHT onto Seaport Village ~ an adorable collection of boutiques and restaurants sure to keep us busy for DAYS.

We found THE most adorable cupcakery: Frost Me Cupcakes

They were featured on The Cupcake Wars ~
So the girls *obviously* had to try them out.

Then it was off to have fortunes read by the Zoltar Machine :)

There was plenty of picture taking.

And we even set sail on "The Seal":
A bus that transforms to a boat.
We toured the city, and then plopped right into the water for a sea tour.

This little miss LOVED the sights.

And these guys were pretty adorable, soaking up the rays.

I highly recommend this tour if you are in the San Diego area.
We were blessed with Captain: Liz and First Mate: Ross as our guide.
Ross was PHENOMENAL.
Truly, it was money well spent!

And then back to Seaport Village we went;
for Ice Cream treats, of course!

For five girls who love to shop, it was pretty much paradise.

We browsed the waterfront a little more,

Documented with a few more photographs.
Then it was time to head home.
And now we're ready to go back! ;)

Last Year

One year ago today we were headed to San Diego for a little vacay.

It is amazing to me all that can change in one year's time.
Looking back through these photographs, it certainly seems like a lifetime ago, rather than a mere 365 {ahem, 366} days.

I feel like taking a little walk down memory lane . . . join me?

Miss Kam was SO excited to board a plane.
So excited.
She still talks about it.
She talks about our hotel too {it was pretty luxurious}.
She is such a joy to take places, because she delights so much in it.

Here she is, looking for our flight ;)

Our hotel opened up to a beautiful outdoor village of boutiques.
It was pretty much heaven to a bunch of girly girls.

SD09W

When we tired of shopping
{honestly, we didn't tire of it, but we thought we should see the beach too}
We made a trip to Coronado.

SD28W

It was a gorgeous, sunny day.

Some of us enjoyed the sand more than others . . .

SD29W

Some of us wondered what it might be like to sample the sand . . .

And later in the week, Sea World.
So much fun for the girls.

SD36W

Oops, snuck another shopping pic in here, and I'm too lazy to move it. . .

SD12W

Back to Sea World . . .
What fun!
This is one of my all time favorite shots of Jeremy and Sierra.
So happy and carefree.
Love this.

SD37W

There were so many animals to see.
Goodness, they were gorgeous.

And happy :)
Doesn't it look like this guy is smiling at us?

SD38W

My but they make a lot of noise!

SD39W

And the sea turtles.
Oh how I love them.

SD40W

Our trip seemed to fly right by . . .

{Look at how little my girls are.  Crazy how much they grow in a year!}
SD44W

Before we knew it, it was time to head home.
SD45W

And we were all sad to say goodbye :(

Our trip to San Diego was one of the most treasured gifts we have ever received.
I always say that we would much rather have experiences, make memories,
than accumulate more things.

And we made so many precious memories on that trip.

San Diego, Part 3

This is my last San Diego entry.  I won't bore you any further with our vacation pics ;)

Our last day in San Diego was spent at Sea World!
SD36W

The girls {and boy} ran straight to the rides :)
SD37W

We had such fun feeding the sea lions.  Those guys made such a racket begging for food!
SD39W

Oh, hello there.
SD38W

The Sea Turtles . . . oh how I love them!

SD40W

And, of course, we couldn't miss the Shamu show.
SD41W

Our last morning was spent having breakfast, and taking one last stroll around Seaport Village, snapping a few more pictures.
SD44W

I was so happy to grab a few photos of the whole family.

SD42W

Sissy's expression pretty much sums it up.
None of us were ready to go home.
SD46W

Hopefully we'll be able to take another vacation soon!

San Diego Part 1

So.  I took a lot of pictures while we were in San Diego.
Nearly 700, actually.
Mmmhmmm.  That's a lot of pictures to be sortin' through, let me just tell ya.

So far I've just chosen a few {40+} of my favorites, with hopes that somehow I'll acquire an extra 4 or 5 hours in my day {someday} that I can devote to photo sorting.

Here we go:  San Diego, Part 1

Our first couple of days were spent walking around our hotel.  The hotel we were staying in was literally right behind Seaport Village ~ an adorable village of shops and restaurants right on the bay.  Truth be told, the girls could've spent the entire trip there.  All of them love to shop and walk around.  At the end of our day, we'd meet up with hubs and Mom/Grandma for dinner.  Did I mention that Jeremy's brother's girlfriend came along?  How fun was that!  The girls LOVED hanging with her all day.

SD09W

SD10W

On Sunday night we took a carriage ride around the city.  The girls definitely felt like princesses.

SD11W

And Monday, we were ready for more shopping.
But a girl's gotta eat.  So we took a break to find a snack.

SD01W

Not long after sitting down, we had a little visitor.

SD02W

A couple, in fact.

SD03W

Blue Icee!  My favorite!

Stephanie had to play tough guy, and have a little chit chat with Mr. Duck to let him know that stealing our snacks was completely unacceptable behavior.

SD04W

He didn't take it too well, and instead of leaving, he called in reinforcements.

SD05W

So.
We had to do the same.

SD06W

Kam gave him what for, while this little guy watched the show:

SD07W

Luckily we all parted peacefully.

Stay tuned for Part 2 . . . The Beach!

Wordful Wednesdsay ~ Sunny Days Ahead!

Remember when I mentioned I had a little incentive for getting my boot in shape this year?

Remember when I said that I had the.best.Christmas.ever?

Remember when I told y'all that my SUPER wonderful in-laws {I actually kinda dislike that term, because to me, they're Mom and Dad} surprised us with a trip to San Diego in February?

Whoops!  Didn't I mention that? ;)

Vacation2

That's right!
Come February, the SIX of us are all going to board a plane, and fly to the sunshine for 5 whole days of FUN!  Our first big trip as a family of 6 {or five, for that matter!}

Vacation
{Our Vacation Countdown Chart}

To say I'm excited is a complete understatement.  I am just beside myself!  So very thankful to Mom and Dad for the opportunity.  We are going to have so much fun!!!!
