Momentous Monday ~ Cherish the Moments

Today I'm linking up to the first ever Momentous Monday at A Moment Cherished. Tiffany came up with Momentous Monday as a way to cherish the every day moments. I LOVE this idea!
This week, one of many cherished moments for me was watching Makenna's first ever soccer game. Seeing Makenna out there on the field working together with others toward a common goal, playing kindly, and so proud of herself for her efforts, brought tears to my eyes.
Makenna does not like confrontation of any sort, so asking her to get in the middle of a crowd of children and "steal" a ball away is foreign to her ;) But she did get a couple of kicks in there, and we couldn't have been more proud. It was a momentous week, indeed.
I'd love to hear about your special moments this week. Write a post of your own, or share a special picture, and head over to A Moment Cherished to link up and share in others' joy.

Random Thoughts for Friday

A little of this, a little of that . . .

I was going to write up a post about the Ultimate Blog Party going on over at 5 minutes for Mom. I wanted to link up. I would love to check out the millions {okay, not millions, but hundreds. High hundreds} of other bloggers participating. But after spending way too long on the first blog I stumbled upon, I realized I just don't have the time for it right now. It stinks when there aren't enough hours in the day, huh?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm tired of the coughing. Makenna has had a cough for weeks now. It is keeping her up at night. It's keeping me up at night. I think I'm ready for Summer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Please do not laugh at me. Don't make fun of me, or tell me how lame I am, or how I'm always late to the party {I know this already!} . . . BUT, I just discovered Swag Bucks!

Search & Win

Looks easy enough. Any of y'all have much experience with it? What have you earned? What are you "saving" for? I'd love to hear all about it!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Guess who has a soccer game tomorrow morning?
Yep, this little cutie! :) We can't wait!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Alright, confession time. I'm eating WAY too many sweets and treats left over from Easter. Anyone else with me? Ugh, I feel terrible about it, but it's like I can't help myself. The chocolate. All that chocolate. Sigh.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My hair got a much needed pampering session today. It was time for something. It may not look like Spring outside, but I am ready for a Spring Look! Sooooooo, I bought a highlight kit, slapped on a gorgeous cap {you know the ones, don't act like you don't!}, pulled hair through the holes for-evah, had my mom come over to help pull strands in the back, lightened my locks, chopped off a few inches, and voila:
A little windblown, but you get the idea.
{Sissy was snappin' pics on my iPhone tonight at Kenners soccer practice.}
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That's it! Whatcha got planned this weekend? Spill it.

Easter in Pictures

We had the most wonderful Easter, but I'm tuckered out. So I'll let the pictures do most of the talking ;)

Friday night we colored eggs at home.

Saturday we made the dough for cinnamon rolls. But not just any cinnamon rolls. Oh no. We made Pioneer Woman's Cinnamon Rolls.

Sunday morning we prepared them, and oh my my. They are the most delicious things on the planet! Seriously, you must make them. Today.

After Easter morning at our house, we headed next door to my Mom and Dad's house for Brunch. We attempted some pictures. This is how most of them turned out. That's Kenners for ya. My little clown.

This is my niece, Sadie. Isn't she beautiful? My girls LOVE her to pieces. She's so good with them.

My mom made her Bunny Cake, and we couldn't eat it because we were so stuffed with delicious food!

Next it was on to my In-Laws for Dinner and an Egg Hunt. Kam found a few ;)

Sis found some too!

Kenners was beyond excited to find Cotton Candy from Grandma. It's her favorite food, ya know.

Then it was time to attempt another group picture.

Uh, girls, can you look at the camera?

Kenners? Sissy? Look at Mama, Sweeties.

Cheese! Okay, mom? Sheesh.

Almost!

Close enough ;)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How about y'all? Was your Easter as special as ours?
Are you still recovering? ;)
Focus on the Family ~ April 2010
It's time again for Focus on the Family ~ a monthly plan, created by Connie @ the Young and the Relentless, to help us Mamas get organized, and be deliberate in our actions. Make a plan for your own family, and head over to Connie's to link up!
April is going to be a busy month! {Don't I say this every month?} Makenna just started Soccer. She has practice on Mondays, Sierra has dance on Tuesdays, I teach Tap on Wednesdays, and Makenna's games are on Saturdays. Easter is tomorrow. Uh, how did that happen? We have a trip South planned to visit my sister at the end of the month. And hopefully, within the next week or two, we'll get approval from the county to start building our house. Yeah, we're going to be busy.
Some goals for April:
Last week our Bible Study group finished Breaking Free by Beth Moore. It was a toughie, and I think we all felt a strong sense of accomplishment to have finished. But without a lesson each day to keep me on track, I'm afraid I'm going to feel lost. We will start another study in May, but until then my goal is to try a study on my own.
I'd like to plan more activties with the girls. In between practices, lessons, and games, I'm hoping that the weather finally cooperates so that we may get outdoors. Locally, there is a tulip festival that is open through the end of April. Last year the weather was gorgeous. This year . . . there has been a LOT of rain. I'm hoping we'll have a few dry days so that we can head out there.
And, of course, I'd love more time with my husband. I'm enjoying our evenings together, going over plans for our new home. I look forward to more of that in the future.
It's pretty simple, really. More time together making memories. Less "stuff".
Simplicity.
That's what I long for.
