Good-Bye Home

This week we said good-bye to our old home. And it surprised me just how difficult it was. I knew it would be hard, but we're so thrilled to have our new home complete, and are enjoying it so much, I thought maybe I'd be able to say good-bye to our old home without too many tears.

I was wrong.

It wasn't a big beautiful house. It was old and outdated. But it was our first real home together as a family. It was ours. It was the only home the girls remember.

I kept telling myself that the memories we have don't leave with the house.

They remain with us.

But it was difficult nonetheless. Especially for a girl who gets easily attached.

But now?

Now we get to make new memories in our new house.

And it's sure to feel like a home soon.

And what do ya know. We can actually see what the front of it looks like. The mobile home was so close to the building site ~ up until now, we had to kind of guess ;)

your new home is just so beautiful, it seems to have a craftsman touch, which i love that type of design. and yes, no matter the size or the way your home looks it always hard to say goodbye. we said goodbye to our first home about a year and a half ago, but we have gone out to "visit" it several times since. i'm sure you have lots of pictures of your old home! :)

Awww, I saw the title and thought to myself...I wonder if that was hard. Sounds like it was. So many memories were made, but so many more to made in your new, BEATIFUL home! Hugs!

The house may be gone but I know the memories aren't! Good thing you take tons of pictures to capture those moments. Now you can make many more new memories. Ooh and that is SO my dream front door...seriously.

I totally know what you mean. I had such a difficult time when we moved out of our home last summer. I cried so much and still do sometimes. I too get really really attached to things!

Your new home looks beautiful! You'll be sure to have many many wonderful new memories there!

Your new home is beautiful, I love the colors you picked.

I am sure that you will make wonderful new memories in this home. And your newest little princess will have no memories of the old house. The new one will be perfect to her.

I would be right there with you. Change is so hard for me as I to get so attached.
Your new home is just beautiful though. Love the colors.
Blessings!

You new house is beautiful!
My husband and I and the girls lived in my parents basement apartment for 4 years before we bought this house. It was harder than I thought leaving. (EVen though we're now right down the road.) You'll always keep the memories of the old house, but now make new ones too. :)
