Treasure Hunt

I've been trying to come up with a list of fun {inexpensive} activities to keep the littles entertained
this summer {or anytime really!}.
So awhile back I was thinking that a treasure hunt might be kind of fun.
I started collecting little, inexpensive items that the girls might enjoy ~
candies, bubbles, princess tattoos, stamps . . .
stuffed them all into an old plastic ice cream container . . .
dug a hole . . .
and buried "the treasure"

Then I wrote out a few "clues" and hid them around the property.

Each clue led to the next, and, finally, the X marks the spot ;)
Complete with shovels for digging.

They were so excited to have finally found the treasure!

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the super cool "treasure" ;)  It was the fun of the "hunt".

Try it with your littles!

And if you have any great summer ideas, let me know.  We're composing our list!!

How fun is that?! We did one when we were camping last year and the kiddos LOVED it.

Now this is a great idea!!! I bet they had so much fun finding the clues! My mom used to do this for my sister and I at Christmas. We would both open all but one of our gifts. Our last one we had to find via clues spread out all over the house. I didn't realize how much I missed doing that until I read this post!

You are such a fun mama! My boys would LOVE this...I even have the perfect place to bury the treasure because they have been digging holes in my yard all spring:)

That's great!! I just got some great ideas on Pinterest. We're going to be making our own fingerpaint, and playdo (in addition to a bunch of other crafts!). I also love to have them help me make snacks and meals. They're more inclined to eat it if they helped. :)
