Countdown to Christmas ~ Week 1

Whew! We've had a busy first week of December, how about you?

December 1st started off with a North Pole Breakfast.

December 2nd we got our tree!!!!

December 3rd was a little hectic, as I had already scheduled a photo session out of town, and had errands to run before Jeremy and I headed off to an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party.  So the girls' activity that day was Movie Night with Nana and Gramps.

December 4th we hurried home right after Church because Mama was goin' on day 3 of a migraine. Bleh.  We still managed a quick craft.

December 5th we had hoped to wake up to snow, as was forecast. We were a little disappointed at first . . . until it started snowing later that morning.  And continued the rest of the day!! We made these adorable little paper houses while watching the snow fall outside.  It would have been the best day ever had our dog, Kate, not gotten sick.  A short stay at the vet, and overnight in the house snuggled up to us seemed to work magic!  She's feeling much better now.

December 6th we got to see friends we hadn't visited in ETERNITY, and decorate sugar cookies to boot!

Today is another busy one, with a photo shoot at the home studio this morning, followed by the big girls volunteering at the preschool.  But the goal is to snuggle together and read some Christmas stories as well.

What have you been up to???

Countdown to Christmas 2015 ~ Days 3 & 4

We got our tree on Day Three!

December 3rd is our official tree day, apparently, as this is our third year in a row that we've gotten our tree this day.

I LOVE it!

Tree02W

We went to Jeremy's parents house to pick out the perfect one.

Tree06W

Every year I ask for one just a teensy bit smaller . . .

Tree07W

And every year Sierra and Jeremy pick the tallest tree they can find and give me a thumbs up.

Tree08W

Kenners ~ not thrilled.  She'd like a tree shorter than 100 feet too ;)

Tree09W

We counted the rings ~ 13 years old!  Sissy's age :)

Tree11W

And then all four of the girly girls, plus Jeremy AND Grandpa hauled it to the truck.

We didn't decorate that night, however.

We waited until the following.

And the girls had at it!

Decorating02W

This year it was Kam's turn to place the tree topper.

Decorating04W

But don't worry, we decorate at Nana and Grandpa's, and Grandma and Grandpa's too.
There are plenty of tree toppers to go around.

Do you have your tree up?

What else are you up to??

Christmas Cheer

We are having so much fun counting down the days until Christmas!

Monday we had some precious friends come over to play and help decorate cookies.  Have you ever had new-ish friends that feel like Forever Friends?  These would be them for us.

{Taylor was overly enthusiastic about sprinkles}

Friends08W

Who doesn't love decorating cookies?

This is Miss Kam's bestest bestie.  They are in the same Pre Dance class.
Can you just picture the cuteness?

Friends01W

Tuesday was Tree Day!

Friends03W

Friends04W

We decorated last night.
I love the smell of a freshly cut tree, and the sparkle of the lights . . . . LOVE!

Friends05W

Are you counting down the days with your little lovies?  I would love to know what you're up to!  Come back on Friday and link up your week!

Tree!

I ♥ LOVE ♥ putting up a Christmas tree.
Love.
If it were up to me, it would go up the day after Thanksgiving.
If it were up to Jeremy, it would go up on the 18th of December ;)
So, we compromise :)

Sunday we went up to Mom and Dad Fraijo's to pick out the perfect tree.

Tree2

And Grandma and Grandpa had the fixin's for S'mores all ready.

Tree3W

The girls picked out their tree, we picked out ours . . .

Tree4W

And then, the traditional family picture ;)  We just started this last year, but two years in a row constitutes tradition, right?  {And also?  Heavy coat + weird camera angle = mucho added pounds}.

Tree1

And . . . TA DA!  Our tree.  All 11 feet of it.  Can you just picture me up on a ladder trying to string the lights?  Good times.

Tree Time

We got our Christmas tree over the weekend. I don't know about you all, but the Christmas season doesn't seem to officially start for us until the tree is up.

Saturday morning we headed up to my in-laws to find the perfect tree.

I like this one for our room, Dad.

Okay, stand back.

Look Mama, I can carry it myself.

C'mon Kenners, let's take it to the truck.

We finally chose our tree . . .

. . . and it was time to head home.

But not before snappin' a few more photos {mostly to prove that Kam was, indeed, with us}.

Hopefully y'all had an equally special weekend.

It's Up!

I LOVE Christmas. Like, LOVE it! This is my favorite time of the year. Sure, I get a little worried about finances {I don't know about y'all but we don't have a money tree growing out back}, and I may have a little nervous break down trying to figure out how we'll get everything accomplished, but this truly is such a special time of the year for me. Having three little girls and a husband to share it all with makes it even better.

One of my most favorite parts {besides celebrating Jesus' birth, of course ~ the true reason for the season} is putting up a tree. I love the fresh pine {er, noble} scent. I love stringing the lights. I love watching the girls hang the ornaments while dancing to Christmas music. Hey, I even love watering and picking up after the darn thing. If it were up to me, the tree would go up the day after Thanksgiving. But Jeremy doesn't like to put a tree up until the 10th of December. The 10th. C'mon, that's WAY too long to have to wait for a tree. {Of course, Jeremy is a firefighter, and I know that he just wants to protect us.} I think we've only waited until the 10th one year ~our first year of marriage. Each year we inch closer and closer to the first of December. This year was our earliest . . . yesterday, the 2nd! WOO-HOO! I've got my tree up. It's decorated. And I think it's beautiful. Sierra and Makenna did such a great job!

Picking out a tree and decorating was our 2nd day of Countdown to Christmas activity. We had a ball!

{Sorry about the pics. I don't have time to edit them right now, so bear with me ;) Will include more tomorrow during link up!}

Don't forget to come back tomorrow to link up for Countdown to Christmas! I can't wait to see what y'all have been up to!!!
