Halloween

We had a nice, quiet Halloween.  How 'bout y'all?

Halloween01

Jerm was out of town right before Halloween, so this mama was left on pumpkin duty.
All I'm going to say is this: There is no reason for a family of 6 to carve SIX pumpkins.
Four?  Okay.  One for each kiddo is totally reasonable.  But six pumpkins to cut open.  Six pumpkins to reach into, pulling out the slimy, sticky guts.  That's a few too many for this Mama ;)  Next year the older ones are at least going to help clean them out, lol!

Now, on to the fun part.  The dressing up:

Kam changed her mind about her costume about 1.2 million times.
First she wanted to be a fairy.  Then a princess.  Then Tiana.  Then Fairy Princess Tiana.
Then maybe a kitty.  No, possibly a ballerina.  And then finally, she settled on Princess Aurora.  Perfect!  She looked just like a little Sleeping Beauty.
Sierra had  her heart set on Cinderella.
She used one of my old pageant gowns, and we found some white gloves.
Kenners wanted to be Ariel.  I am no seamstress, but I did manage a little skirt set in aqua blue.
And Tay wound up being the little ballerina.
We'd thought about a fairy for her, but didn't figure she'd keep the wings on anyway, so a ballerina costume was the easiest, most comfy idea for a 1 year old ;)

Halloween03

We trick-or-treated at a whopping four houses, and then snuggled up at home for Halloween specials.  It was perfection!  And now . . .

The holidays are officially upon us!

I LOVE this time of year!!!

Cider Makin'

Cider01W

Every year we go to the pumpkin patch, every year we buy their cider, and every year we cry when the last drop has been drunk.

So this year, we thought we'd buy our own apples, and do the cider makin' ourselves.  Even more fun?  Invite others over to share in the fun, and the work, {and the cost!}, and the deliciousness!!
So that is what we did, folks.

We took a lot of apples, did a lot of slicing, a lot of crushing, and made a lot of cider!

And I'm thinking we're going to have to do this again soon, because there were an awful lot of apples left over ;)

I'm seeing some apple pie in our near future.

And the little ones?  They're not feeling so great :(  There has been some sort of illness circulating the house for the last month, but Kam has gotten a lot worse over the last few days.  We may have to make a trip to the doctor soon.

Taylor is cutting four molars at once, sigh.  And her new trick?  I'll let you see for yourself:

Minutes of entertainment, right there.

Pumpkin Patch Pics {Say that 5x fast!}

We made it to the Pumpkin Patch this week, and had such fun!  We seriously look forward to it all year long.
PumpkinPatch1

The swings and slides are a favorite.  I think the girls could've stayed there all day.

Then we moved on to the animals.  Oh these little piggies were so cute!

PumpkinPatch4

Kam loved the goats :)

PumpkinPatch5

See?  She normally keeps a safe distance from all animals ;)
PumpkinPatch6

And we picked out a few pumpkins.

PumpkinPatch7

And some apple cider.  Mmmmmmm, apple cider.  Our favorite!

PumpkinPatch8

And one of Tay, just to document that she came along ;)
