November, already?

Well, hello there :)

Days are flying by at the speed of light, as usual.
We had a fabulous Halloween weekend, and are moving right along toward Thanksgiving.
How this is possible, I'm not sure. But my calendar doesn't lie.

Halloween night we Trick or Treated
{which is code for: we stopped by grandparents houses,
 and then stuffed ourselves on candy while watching The Great Pumpkin}

Girls

I think Kam was the only one of the girls who stuck with her original dress up idea :)

We came up with Sissy's costume idea, literally, an hour before heading out.
May I present: The White Witch from Narnia

HalloweenW

Saturday evening was spent down at the church for the Harvest festival, which was SO much fun.
It was kind of quiet, but I won't lie, that's how we love it.
It was comfortable, and casual, and the girls belted out worship songs onstage.
Ahhhhh. Makes my heart happy.

So, what else?
Life has been busy with photo shoots, schooling, and the like.
But we managed to fit in a few photos for ourselves:

I call this, Christmas Card Photo, Take One . . .

ChristmasCard01W

My silly girls.

Next up?
Family is coming for a visit this weekend, and
cider-making is on the calendar for Saturday.
We can't wait!
I'm making chili, soup, bread . . . and of course, the main course will be cider ;)

Trickin' & Treatin'

Oh my goodness, we had such a fun Halloween evening! We live out in the sticks {have I mentioned that before?}. Not even a stop light in this little town. I had prepared the girls ~ they're used to it by now ~ that we would probably just trick or treat at Grandma and Grandpa's, Nana and Grandpa's, and Nana and Papa's. Then we'd come home, put on a Halloween special, and call it good. And they were fine with that. In the end, we hit a few more houses than expected, and they came home with TONS of candy. {Sshhhh, don't tell the dentist}.

Get ready for some pictures. And definite cuteness overload. Just sayin'. Oh, and please don't pay any attention to the photo quality. My lens is having a hard time these days, and we were workin' in some low light conditions ;)

I could not get enough of this little kitty. She sat perfectly still while I painted her face.

And the finished product :)

I love how Kam is looking to her big sissies in this pic. She's always paying close attention to what they're doing, to see what she should be doing {in this case saying "trick or treat"}.

After all the talk of "nanny" {known as candy to you all}, Kam was getting more than a little irritated that we were taking pics and not getting on with the trick or treating.

I know this one is dark, but I love it. Kam was pretty enthralled with the glo sticks ;)

Not sure what Kenners is pointing at, but she's excited! :)

It didn't take Kam long to get the hang of it. 'Hmmm, say "treat", get a treat. I could get used to this'.

We had so much fun! Hope your Halloween was equally memorable!!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Okay, so it's a little early for Christmas, but I love this time of year. The crisp evenings {or crisp all days, as we've been having}, the beautiful leaves, pumpkin carving, apple cider sipping. Ahhhh. I just love it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We've been busy enjoying the little things.
Pumpkin Patchin'
Soakin' up the last of the beautiful sunshine
Riding the cow train ;)
Swingin'
Feedin' the Chickens
Playin' around in the new house ;)
And, of course, scoopin' out the mushy squishy,
Oooey, Gooey, Guts of Pumpkins
And turning them into . . .
Masterpieces ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hope you're enjoying it all as much as we are!

Friend Makin' Mondays ~ Halloween Candy!

Can it really be Monday again already???
Welcome to another edition of Friend Makin' Mondays, hosted by our fabulous, Amber!

This week she asks about our favorite Halloween candy.

Yeah, like I can choose just one {or five!}

I'm sorry to say but we've had candy in our house all month.

An enormous bag {245 pieces, to be exact} made its way into our home several weeks ago.

If said bag had consisted of sweet tarts, suckers, and the like, I could have stayed away.

I would have stayed away.

But no. It had to contain chocolate.

I LOVE chocolate.

Some of my favorites include {but are definitely not limited to}:

Yep, that's right, all of those.

Well, the Butterfinger and regular Hershey's I can take or leave.

But I love the Snickers, love. And Kit Kats are the best.

I love me some Peanut M&Ms, yes I do.

The best thing is that these are Fun Size.

They're smaller, which means I can eat more, right? Right???

******************

Soooooo, I didn't get the greatest pictures on Halloween :( Jeremy and I hunted until dark, so by the time the girls got into their costumes and we made it to a couple of houses, it was too dark to get any decent photos. But, I have to share this precious one of Kam. She just couldn't make it any longer, poor little butterfly:

Hope y'all had a great weekend, and that you've finally recooped!

Bring on Thanksgiving!

Happy Halloween!

I'm sure there will be more to follow.
But here are a few of my favorite shots from last night's Halloween Carnival.

Sis was so excited to get her face painted.

Kenners loved being a butterfly.

Waiting for the announcement of the costume contest.

They look like they are draggin', don't they?

A full day of homeschool, then swim lessons,

a quick bite at Nana and Gramps house,

shimmy into the costumes,

and finally we made it to the carnival.

They were a bit worn out by that point.

HA! This one cracks me up! Doesn't it just look like she's sayin'
"Get this darn head thingy off me, Mom!"

Happy Halloween, y'all!

It's Halloween at Friend Makin' Mondays!

It's Monday! And you know what that means . . .

Friend Makin' Monday!!!

This week, Amber asks:

What are you going to be for Halloween?

Oh, how the girls change their minds about a billion times before finally settling on a costume, but I think we've finally figured it out. Makenna and Kameryn are going to be little butterflies

{sorry, but I could not find a butterfly costume picture that even remotely looked like the girls' costumes}

and Sierra is going to be a bumble bee. This isn't the exact costume, but you get the idea.

That's it! Now, I'd better get to bed. We've got a big day full of pumpkin pickin' in the morning. I'm praying the rain holds off.

Time . . . Where are you going?

*Pardon the grumpy goose in Picture #1 . . . we'd had a very long day at the pumpkin patch ;)

I cannot believe that another October has just flown right by me. We are now looking at less than 50 days until Christmas!!! Where does the time go? I hope you all had a fabulous Halloween. Though ours was pretty quiet this year, compared to the last few, I think we all enjoyed ourselves. The girls were the cutest little black cats you've ever seen, and they managed to get their hands on quite a bit of candy. Now if I could just get time to slow down a bit . . .
