Getting Ready

We are SO ready for Baby Girl's arrival.

{So ready.}

But she's not due for another week. Two if you're going by the date they gave me at the doctor {I am not}.

So we wait.

{With hideously swollen ankles}

And do what any impatient mama would do . . .

{Well, besides complain. I'll admit it, I'm a big whiney baby}

Give up?

Sew, of course.

Most of these are just scrap fabrics I've had lying around from different projects. But I love them so. The seaside rose has been a favorite of mine for years, and I'm so happy it has a home in this blanket.

Now . . . I just can't wait to use it!

Projects!

So, turns out a blog break isn't all bad. The girls and I have been enjoying some beautiful, sunshiney weather {finally!!}, and since Jeremy is off hunting, we've had a little extra time for . . .

Projects!

Oh how I've missed projects. We've been so busy lately ~ moving and organizing and getting settled; finishing up our school year; preparing for a new baby; and all sorts of other odds and ends, that we just haven't had much craft time. But the last couple of days we made the time.

A sneak peak:

For her birthday, Makenna received an American Girl sleeping bag for her doll. Sierra's been wanting one ever since. So the other day we were at the fabric store, and I picked up some super snuggly {and cute} minky with thoughts of just making a sleeping bag myself. I'm not a seamstress. At all. I love making baby blankets and bibs, little burpies, and even some appliqued onesies, but I don't do zippers or anything crazy like that ;) But I attempted it anyway, and we thought it turned out pretty cute! I even stamped a little silver tag that reads: Meg, {her doll's name is Meagan}, and attached it to the zipper.

I've also been making little headbands and photo props in anticipation of our new little one's first pictures! Can you tell we're a liiiiiiitle excited about her arrival?

Kam decided she like this one, and put it on for awhile ;)

Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder?

So, Miss Kameryn likes to be right next to Mama at all times. We catch our Zzzzs together, we eat together, we clean house together (and I use the words clean and house VERY loosely), etc. If I try to put her down even for a moment, I'll get an earful (thank goodness for my best pal, sling). Anyway, this morning she sacked out on my lap during homeschool with Sierra and Makenna, and she seemed unusually content, so I carefully moved her to our bed so that I could get a quick load of laundry switched over and clean up the breakfast dishes. She wound up sleeping for almost an hour . . . without me . . . and I'll tell ya, I missed her.

Tell me you wouldn't miss this little pumpkin if she weren't permanently attached to you, I dare ya.
