New Furniture, & Other Odds & Ends

Did I mention that my in-laws took us furniture shopping a few weeks ago?

Well, they did. {Isn't that the sweetest??}

And yesterday, it arrived!

Sierra and Kenners immediately jumped up on the couch for a story the second it was in its place!

And they've been enjoying it ever since ;)

~~~~~~~~~
Shortly after getting furniture situated, the {already cold} weather turned . . . colder.
Guess I shouldn't have complained about the 48 degree temps, huh?
We braved the winter-like weather anyway, and headed to Makenna's first dance class of the year {we'd been on a break since Christmas}. Once we got home and had dinner, I caught this sweet moment between sisters:
Kenners and Kam don't always get along superbly, so this precious moment really touched me. And we all enjoyed a nice, quiet evening. Jeremy and I even caught a few minutes of that new show on TLC: Extreme Couponing. Have any of you seen it? Oh.my.goodness. I knew that you could save money by using coupons, but seriously? This was AMAZING! One family bought $1,000 in groceries for . . . .
Wait for it . . .
Under $45!
I know that couponing is a full-time job, and I don't expect it to come naturally {at least not right away}, but if these women can save 90%+ on their shopping trips, surely I can cut my grocery bill by a little, right? I'm inspired to at least try!
Anyway . . . getting a little off track.
So, when we went to bed we noticed some flurries, and woke up to this:
Snow, people. In April. And I know I keep saying that I'm going to do better with my weather mood, but really? Snow? I guess that's what I get for complaining about all that rain ;)
So the girls and I did what any normal person would do when stuck inside {again} on a cold morning:
Made {YUMMY} crepes for breakfast!
Who said good food can't make things better?
Ahhh, Lazy Fall Days . . .
YEAH, RIGHT!
We've been busy!
Jeremy got home from his hunting trip about 1am on Saturday. Any of you "hunters' wives" will know what follows a trip such as this. Laundry, laundry, more laundry. Let's just say that the washing machine and I have been getting to know each other REAL well these last few days.
We've cut and wrapped meat, the laundry is caught up, and I'm happy to say that things are pretty much back to normal. Whatever normal may be.
Yesterday we took a trip to the Pumpkin Patch. Just the girls, my mom, and me. We had a great time! There were slides and swings, castles made from hay, mazes, a petting zoo, and best of all, PUMPKINS! I want to post pictures {I got some good ones!}, but there doesn't seem to be time right now. Hopefully tomorrow. Until then, Happy Tuesday!
Beach Trip & Other Odds & Ends
I've been busy snappin' pictures in an effort to become a better photographer. Yesterday the girls and I ventured outside after the rain had passed through, and I got some great shots of Kam and a couple with all three girls that are just precious. I'm hoping to do our own portrait this year {did I already mention that?} , but I definitely need a little more practice {and a new lens, and maybe Photoshop??? Yeah, I know, but a girl can dream right?} before that big day comes. Anyway, I can't wait to share the photos, but I think I'll wait until next week when it's time for Kam's 8 month entry. Can you believe she's almost 8 months old already? Ack! I really don't know where the time goes.
We've been a busy bunch this September! Our Great Wolf Lodge trip was fantastic, and we just recently got back from the beach. What a fabulous time we had! The beach trip was actually planned as a Homeschooling Field Trip with a good friend of mine, and her children. If we're being honest here, we just really wanted to go to the beach. Throw in a visit to the Tillamook Cheese Factory, and an afternoon at the Oregon Coast Aquarium, and we can disguise all our beach fun by calling it a Field Trip. We're bad, I know.
We spent most of Tuesday driving down the coast. We stopped in Tillamook at the Cheese Factory. We got to see them packaging up the cheese, and most importantly taste some delicious ice cream.
A lady was kind enough to ask if we'd all like to have a picture together.
We finally arrived in Lincoln City, and immediately hit the sand.
And spent the rest of the evening digging, patting, scooping, and splashing.
Guess what I learned about my friend, Amanda, on our trip. She has got some mad skills when it comes to sand art! Here she is with her son, sculpting one mean crocodile.
The finished product.
Wednesday was spent at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. We got to see some beautiful fish, and learned quite a bit about ocean life. Look at this beauty.
I loved this jelly-fish exhibit. Its color was so vibrant. Especially with the beautiful blue back-drop.
Peek-A-Boo!
I'm so happy we made this trip a priority. It's been something we've talked about for awhile.
So that's that. We've been BUSY!
Tomorrow is our first official day of homeschool. Yay! I'm so happy to be starting again, and getting back into a routine. Hope y'all are enjoying these last few weeks of sunshine. Unless of course you live someplace that is warm year round. If that's the case I'm jealous. Very jealous.
