Friend Makin' Monday ~ It's {almost} a New Year!

Another week, another Friend Makin' Monday! Last week flew by faster than the rest, it seems, with so many Christmas celebrations. I plan on posting photos soon, it's just been a tad busy around here. And it doesn't look like it will slow down anytime soon. But that's another story.

So, today Amber asks us:

What are our New Year's Resolutions?

I'm still working on my list, but a few of mine are:

♥ Exercise {I know, I know, this one always makes the list for me, but doesn't get taken seriously enough. I need to get in the habit of exercising again. It's been years since I've exercised regularly, and I know I need it.}

♥ Find a new church home. This has been a difficult year for me. After having Kam we were convinced that God was calling us to a new church home. Now I'm not sure where it is that God wants us. I'm praying for guidance.

♥ Build a house. When we bought our property {20 acres} in 2005 there was a lot of work to be done. We put a manufactured home on it in 2006 in hopes of building a house in the future. I think we may be getting close to that future, and I am so excited!

♥ Continue to work on being the kind of wife and mother God has called me to be. To always use soft words {even in times of frustration}, to lead by example, to submit completely to my husband. This is a work in progress, don'tchaknow.

♥ To work on improving my photography in hopes of making it less hobby and more serious {?} This is a big stretch, but I just love taking pictures. And someday, when we are done having babies {sniffle, sniffle}, and they aren't tiny anymore {more sniffles}, I will need to think about returning to work. The thought actually terrifies me. I would love to find something that I can do at home, where I make the schedule. This is one of my biggest prayers.

I'm sure I'll be adding to this list, but for now these are a few of my resolutions for 2010

One of my ultimate dreams is to build a house. One of my husband's....to NOT build a house. :)

As far as work goes...I intend to stay at home until the kids go to college.

I pray you find the church home that is perfect for you and your family and exactly where God wants you to be. That is a great resolution. I am praying over mine and thinking through them this week before I post mine. Happy New Year.

Amen to being the kind of wife and mother God wants us to be, and soft words... There are a lot of sites & blogs with great photography tips - hope you develop this passion in the new year! Those who really love it seem to bring something extra special to their photographs. Happy New Year! MIKI

What a great list of resolutions! We built our house in 2004 and it was a ton of work, but a ton of fun too! I want to take a photography class and learn how to really use my camera and take great pictures!

Great Goals!!! I love how all of them seem SO attainable and perfect for you!!!

I totally understand finding a home church- I am in the same situation. I have found that church Christians can be the most unloving and judgemental people :( I;m really struggling to find a good church where people care more about love than criticism.

Good Luck!

I love your list. My husband would love to build a house eventually as well. I am still on the fence about it. Owning 20 acres must be wonderful!
Happy New Year!

Oooh, building a house - hubby would LOVE to do that one day, but the thought of packing all this stuff up and moving it? Can't even fathom. I'm dreaming of a new kitchen/addition on this one someday (soon please Lord?)

Love your list! Happy New Year :)

Any chance you want to build your house near mine? Haha... Seriously, great list. I think sometimes it's so hard to use gentle words when mad. I feel so bad after I've yelled...definitely something I want to work on, as well as the photography thing. Have you gotten your camera? I still haven't had a second of time to work on Photoshop, and now that the basement is a catastrophe, not sure when I'll have time. :) It will be exciting to see what this next year will hold for us all.

So glad to be your friend, and look forward to the years to come.

My New Years Resolution is to be able to accept myself for my strengths and faults. Yes I want to lose all my baby weight and have the body I had B.K. (before kids) but I know I won't be that way, my body has changed and will change again after the 3rd one. I need to work on loving myself a little more.
