Dancin' Again

 After a very welcome winter break, the girls are back at dance.
And they couldn't be happier.

It may not look like it, but Sierra is thrilled.
She takes dance so seriously, it's pretty sweet.
 

And Kenners . . .
She has her four bestest buds in class, so I'd say she's enjoying it as well.
 

Kam decided to take a break this session, but even Tay is having a good time . . .

It's funny, sometimes, to think back to when we were first starting our family.
I was so convinced I'd have a house full of boys
{and not know a thing about how to take care of 'em!}
God definitely had other plans.
We have the girliest girly house around, I'm afraid!

 

 

Dancin'

Another year of dance is behind us.

Seriously?  Where does the time go?

I'm not going to lie, there were days that it was difficult to get us all out the door and to class on time.

There were days I didn't really feel like chasing a little one all over the dance floor for an hour while we waited for the sissies to finish their lesson.

But, in the end, it is SO worth it.

Watching the girls up onstage is such a joy.

It is amazing how much they've grown in just a year.

Oh I am so proud!!

So . . . . real quick.  I kind of feel like I've already asked for more prayers than I should be allowed.  But . . . we have been battling some sort of illness off and on {but mostly on} for nearly 2 1/2 months.  It seems that once one of us starts feeling better, someone else comes down with something. If any of y'all feel led to pray for health and healing here {as well as peace and guidance}, I would be so appreciative. 

Spring Fling

Saturday afternoon was our annual Spring Fling dance performance, and it was such fun to watch Sierra and Makenna on "stage".

It was a beautiful day for it, too.  Warm temps, and even a little sunshine peeking through.

Sierra loves her Jazz 3 class.  She started with Jazz, and it's always been her thing. 

Kenners, on the other hand, has tried it all: Tap, Ballet, Jazz, and is now in Hip Hop.
I think she likes Hip Hop ;)

And Kam was just happy to finally get ahold of some Cotton Candy ;)

Project 52: Week 9 ~ A Great Leap

Anyway . . . Week 9: A Great Leap.
My oldest daughter, Sierra, loves to dance.  No, wait.  She ♥  LOVES ♥ to dance.  She's always dancing around the house, in the grocery store aisles, outside.  So, it didn't take too much convincing to get her to do some leaping for me :)

Dance Class Days

The girls started back to dance this week. They were so excited. We took a break through summer, then had swim lessons through the fall that conlicted, so it's been awhile!

On Monday they tried the Tap class and Tuesday was Jazz. They settled on Jazz. Both of them. Have I ever mentioned how cute they are in their dance clothes???

Kam loves watching her big sissies.

Maybe someday she'll be out there in her tutu too ;)

With Flowers in Her Hair

Sierra had a dance performance on Saturday. Her first performance with her new studio. It was casual, laid-back. But she enjoyed herself, my little performer.

How did she grow so fast? It seems only yesterday that she was a tiny little bundle who made me a mamma. She's almost seven now. She takes dance lessons, swim lessons, loves to go fishing with daddy. She's my helper. From the time she could stand she would help me in the laundry room and the kitchen. She's my sweet baby girl, who is reminding me daily with her achievements that she's not such a baby anymore . . .

Library Trips and Dance Class Days

Whew! Dancing is hard work!

Spring is here!!! *Though I'm not sure if Mother Nature got the memo ~ after our two sunshiney days we've had rain, rain, hail, and more rain coupled with temps in the forties, yuck!* Dance classes have resumed, and we are now feeling more comfortable taking Kam out and about without the great fear of exposing her to something! I must say, it's nice for life to be resembling normalcy.

Last week, during our brief warm-weather teaser, Sierra and I hit the library and park (Kam came too, of course). While we were swingin' from the monkey bars, Makenna got to enjoy a special afternoon at Nana's house. The break from each other was much-needed. Whether it's being cooped up day after day due to months of winter weather, or if it is a natural reaction to change within our family, I'm not sure, but Sierra and Makenna have not been getting along these days. A little time apart was just what the doctor ordered!

Life Is A Dance

Last night was the final night of the Oregon High School Dance and Drill State Competition. Having been a member of dance team throughout high school, and having coached after high school, I naturally love to attend each year. But even more important, my sister, Annie, still coaches high school dance team, so we love to go to support her and her girls. Geri and I loaded up the girlies (if you think we're getting Kam started early, you should know that Makenna attended her first competition at the ripe ol' age of 2 weeks!) and headed into Portland.

We all had a fabulous time. Kam slept through the majority of the competition, Sierra and Makenna were content snacking on popcorn and admiring all of the costumes, and I got my dance team "fix" for the year. We also got to visit with old friends, and of course see Annie and her daughter, Sonoma.

I snapped a few pictures, though none are great (I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with my camera ~ any suggestions on a good camera are welcome!).
