Craftin' the Days Away

Not really.

Sometimes I may wish I could craft the day away.

But c'mon, that's not realistic.

We did find a little extra time for crafting this weekend, though.

And it felt sooo good to get out the scissors, glue, ribbon, and lovely, lovely, {oh so lovely} scrapbook paper.

Ahhh, I love pretty paper.

Anyway.

We made Bunnies!

We are so ready for Spring, and flowers, and sunshine, and bunnies.

I am no artist. I need templates for everything.

So, I searched online for a bunny template, and I found these precious creations at Betz White's. We even made these little bunnies for the girls to snuggle {not out of cashmere, just minky}, but her template worked fabulously for this other project I had in mind. One that you can do too!

Here's what you'll need:

Bunny Template

Scrapbook Paper

Glue

Ribbon

Stickers/Brads/Embellishments

To make things a little easier for the girls, I printed the template on the "wrong side" of the scrapbook paper. That way they could easily cut around the dotted line, and no ink would show on the pretty side. Once your bunny is cut out, it's time to glue and decorate.

We glued ours to an 8x8 sheet of scrapbook paper

Kam kept us entertained all the while.

Once I cut mine {Kam's} out, I attached a little flower bunny tail with a rhinestone brad.

Makenna was pretty proud of hers. Cute, no?

We used a brad for the eye, and the girls insisted on little hearts for our bun-buns ;)

Once we were done assembling, and they were glued to the squares, we punched holes to attach.

And used ribbon to hold them together.

And voila! Easter Decor :)

I used the same template to cut out oil cloth.

She looks cute guarding the Easter Eggs, don't ya think?

Friend Makin' Monday ~ Random Thoughts

I am going to be 30 this year. Aagghhh!
I think I need more hours in the day.
I should be cleaning house, but instead I'm on the computer.
I dream about warm, Summer days.

I want more babies. :)
I know Kam is tired and needs a nap, but she just won't go down.
I don't like Winter!
I smell homemade bread rising in the kitchen.
I hear the clock ticking and Kam babbling.
I fear not being around to watch my children grow.
I usually am pretty good about keeping up on laundry.
I search for missing things way too often.
I miss my sister and her babies. We don't see each other often enough.
I always love a good snuggle.
I regret when I say too much/when my mouth runs away from me.
I wonder what my children will be like when they are grown.
I crave more time in His word.
I remember when 30 sounded so grown up. Now I'm almost there, and I don't feel very grown up ;)
I need to go through the house and de-clutter, but getting started seems overwhelming.
I forget a lot of things.
I feel blessed. I can still do the splits.
I can't remember what life was like before I had children.
I am happy with what I have.
I lose more socks than I can count.
I sing poorly. Very poorly.
I listen well, but talk too much.
I shop..... more than I should, but WAY less than I'd love to.
I eat too much, but I cannot help it. I love food.
I love My family!

Pretty Fabric, How I've Missed Thee

I love fabric. It's an addiction, really.

When I couldn't justify buying any more for myself,

I opened an Etsy shop to make lovelies for others.

After I had Kameryn, the sewing came to an abrupt halt.

Life was just too busy.

So, my poor sewing machine became neglected :(

I'm finally finding a little bit of time here and there for crafting and sewing again.

I have missed it.

When a friend emailed and asked for a blanket for her niece,

I couldn't refuse!

This is what we came up with :)

Just a little something I've been up to this week.

I may even have a few more projects planned for next week.

You Can Learn A Lot From Children's Songs

The other night, on the way home from tap class, Kenners requested some of her favorite children's music. Normally I just tap my foot along and let my mind wander, but on this particular evening I was especially drawn to the words of one of our favorites: Fast and Slow by Laurie Berkner.

Do y'all know it? It is featured on Nick Jr., and is now one of our favorite songs to stretch to during Tap class. You know what I realized? Laurie's music teaches important lessons {and not just to children!} You know what else I realized? That I'm totally lame and cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to post a Youtube video to my blog post. I can post it to my actual blog, but can't figure out how to get it in the post. Back to the story. I think we could all learn a thing or two from this song. At least, I know I can. The part in yellow, especially speaks to my heart.

You're A Little Late, Mother Nature

Don't you love how we have to get all.bundled.up for a little dusting?

We woke up to a dusting of snow this morning. A little late, don'tchathink? I can deal with snow in December and January. I rather like it, actually. But it's March, and I'm ready for SPRING!!! Please, Sunshine, come back!

Pampered & Parties

I love having girls. Love it. I love the dressing up, the beauty shop-play, the shopping trips, sundresses and sandals, hair-fixin', and spa days. Yes, spa days. We have them frequently around here. And we don't have to go any further than our own bathroom. Whenever we have a special outing planned we have spa day. This consists of foot soaks, pedicures, manicures, hair curling. You know, the works. It's so much fun.

Yesterday was one of our treasured spa days. We had a surprise party to attend, and had to look our best ;)

After the pampering, off to the party we went!

Holy Moly there were a lot of children there. It was such fun to see them all running around enjoying each other. Most of them didn't even know one another, but that didn't stop them! They buddied up and partied down :) And my goodness, there were so many little girls. Of course, Sierra was President of the "Girl Power" movement. Oh dear.

I love days like yesterday. Full of special memories.

Pearly Whites & Beautiful Blossoms

Why do I feel like there is no time for blogging anymore? A couple of months ago I was able to post nearly every day. And now? It's about all I can do to post a picture for Wordless Wednesday, and make it around to a few of my favorite blogs each week. And it's not just blogging that got put on the back burner. I haven't crafted since before Valentine's Day. {Well, except for a bit of sewing I did for someone else. More on that soon.} I want to craft, I do. I'm just not sure when to do it. If I could just find and extra 3 hours a day . . . . oh, wouldn't that be lovely.

Anyway.

Yesterday we had dental appointments. 6 months just sneaks right up, doesn't it? I had to snap a picture of Kenners in her super-cool dentist chair shades:

Mrs. Squawk {Penguin} came along.

Look at how sparkly clean my teeth are, Mama.

{Um yeah, can we agree to ignore the fact that after our appointments, and a grocery shopping trip, that we went to McDonald's? I think the dentist frowns on that kind of thing. World's greatest mom, huh? In my defense, they did have water to drink. Just sayin'.}

Look at the gorgeousness {I'm making up words now} that we encountered on our way through the Drive-Thru. Ahhhhhhh! Spring is in the air!

Can you see it? Can you see that blue sky? Those beautiful blossoms? I am sooooo ready for Spring!

Friend Makin' Monday ~ Design Style

It's Friend Makin' Monday! How I've missed it!

Today, Amber asks us about our Design Style. Hmmm, what's that? Juuust kidding. I have so many dreams of decorating and designing; but am a little short on the money end of it ;) A girl can dream, though, right? So, Amber sent us on over to Sproost. Ever heard of it? Random Thoughts

I'm tired of the sickies. Isn't it the worst when the little ones don't feel well? I hate that I can't make it better. Blessedly, this is really the first time Kameryn has been sick. Her little nose is running constantly and she HATES to have me wipe it. And forget putting her down for even a second. She just won't have it. Poor little thing. Of course, Kam has learned how to fake cough. When she hears one of her sisters coughing, she must.cough.too. It's pretty cute. Sierra and Makenna seem to be feeling a little better today, so hopefully we've turned a corner.

Have I mentioned that Kenners is my quirky one? She's hilarious, and always keeps me guessing. I so need to document all of the funny things that come out of her mouth. We had just come through the door from being up at Great Wolf to celebrate her fifth birthday. Kenners plops herself down and says "I don't feel very Five-ish" {Yeah, well I don't feel nearly 30-ish. Welcome to the club.} Oh that girl.

In other news I got a job. You know, in addition to my 168 hour a week job. ;) I'll be teaching a tap class at the studio that the girls take dance. I filled in for a class on Friday, and it was such fun. Imagine five 3 & 4 year olds in taps. Yeah. It was pretty adorable. And I was amazed at how well they listened and followed directions. I was nervous when I first accepted. I haven't taught dance in awhile. And when I did teach it was high school girls. But I can tell already that I'm going to enjoy it.
