Ten on Ten, March 2012

 

Back in September, I participated in Ten on Ten, and I've been missing it.  So I thought I'd join in today.  The rules are simple: One photo every hour for ten hours, on the tenth of the month.

I, somehow missed the 8ish hour, oops!  So I added in an extra photo.  I'm such a trouble-maker.

Here we go!
Have I mentioned that we've been incubating eggs?  Well, we have.  And for the last three weeks we've been taking extra special care of them.  Last night, we thought we heard a little . . . peeping.  So we knew we were getting close!  And then, this started happening around 6:30am

Shortly after, my big girls came home {they spent the night next door, at Nana and Grandpa's because their cousin was visiting}.  They were so excited to check in on the eggs.

By 9:30, we were ready for some breakfast. 
Miss Taylor thoroughly enjoyed hers.


After breakfast, Taylor went down for a nap, leaving me a bit of time to finish up a project I've been working on . . . 25 hair clips for a hair accessory exchange I'm attending next month.



By 11:30 Taylor was waking up from her morning nap.


And by 12:30 I was ready for lunch!  Jeremy barbecued burgers, yum!


After lunch my big girls came home for good.  Bringing all of their sleepover items with them, and dropping them right in the middle of the living room floor ;)


I decided fresh-baked bread sounded good for dinner . . .



This afternoon I caught Sis and Kenners watching a movie: Prince Caspian.


I started shelling shrimp at 4:30 . . .


. . .  and by 5:30 dinner was on!



That was my day.  What was yours like?

Project 52: Week 10 ~ Be Still

Week 10:  Be Still

Any time I hear the words "be still", I am reminded of one of my favorite scriptures:

Be still, and know that I am God . . .  Psalm 46:10

Mostly I am reminded of how seldom I am still.

Anyway.  Week 10.  A snap of my girl in His word.  Nothing sweeter to a Mama than that!

We spent yesterday afternoon soaking up the glorious sunshine.

And today . . . we're back to rain.

And threats of snow.

Sigh.

Project 52: Week 9 ~ A Great Leap

How come I'm such a procrastinator??!  Always waitin' till the last second
Anyway . . . Week 9: A Great Leap.
My oldest daughter, Sierra, loves to dance.  No, wait.  She ♥  LOVES ♥ to dance.  She's always dancing around the house, in the grocery store aisles, outside.  So, it didn't take too much convincing to get her to do some leaping for me :)

San Diego, Part 3

This is my last San Diego entry.  I won't bore you any further with our vacation pics ;)

Our last day in San Diego was spent at Sea World!

The girls {and boy} ran straight to the rides :)

We had such fun feeding the sea lions.  Those guys made such a racket begging for food!

Oh, hello there.

The Sea Turtles . . . oh how I love them!  

And, of course, we couldn't miss the Shamu show.

Our last morning was spent having breakfast, and taking one last stroll around Seaport Village, snapping a few more pictures.

I was so happy to grab a few photos of the whole family. 



Sissy's expression pretty much sums it up. 

 None of us were ready to go home.

Hopefully we'll be able to take another vacation soon!

Project 52: Week 8 ~ Cabin Fever

This week's Project 52 Theme:  Cabin Fever.

Oh boy.  Do I know all about that. 
The Pacific Northwest is pretty much known for our obscene amounts of rainfall. 
We are often cooped up inside for months on end :( 

What do we do with all of the . . . inside time?

Crafts, puzzles, games.  You name it!

{aka ~ Kenners, Kenner-Bug, Bug}
I cannot believe you are 7 years old today!  It doesn't seem all that long ago you were just a tiny little bundle, our second baby girl.  The first, in a line of little sisters to big Sissy, Sierra.

You've grown so much in the last year.

So much.

But you're still the same fun-loving, crazy, imaginative little girl you've always been.

I'm guessing that's the way you'll always be.

We love you so much, Sweet Girl.  You're a bright ray of sunshine in our every day.
