Countdown to Christmas ~ 2010, ♥ Week 2 ♥

Countdown to Christmas

Welcome to Week ♥ 2 ♥ of Countdown to Christmas! Am I the only one who has a hard time believing that we're in our second week of December already? The clock is ticking, isn't it?

We had a great week. It was kind of quiet and relaxed, but that's good sometimes.

So, recap:

Last Friday we went Christmas shopping and out to lunch. We ate at one of the girls' favorite restaurants {no, not McDonalds, thankyouverymuch!}, Lil' Cooperstown. And we finished up almost all of our Christmas shopping. Just a couple more things to pick up.

Saturday we got our tree! We were so happy to have it picked out and put up! We even got a shot of the whole family. That doesn't happen very often ;)

Sunday we had planned to craft, but at the last minute our plans changed and the girls decided to go up to Jeremy's parents' house to help them sell trees. They had such fun as the official tree picker outers ;) We also spent some time in Luke 2. I think the more I read it, the more in awe I am.

Monday we made wreath decorations. I had little foam wreaths left over from last year, and the girls decorated them with rhinestones and sequins.

Tuesday was spent reading some of our favorite Christmas stories. The girls love the Little House books. Makenna received "A Little House Christmas" a couple of years ago. It is a fabulous book filled with special Christmas stories. We read the first one on Tuesday.

And Tuesday evening we were invited to my parents' house to decorate their tree. I don't think the girls could ever get tired of decorating.

And today we made our Rudolph Candy Canes. So much fun!

So . . . . what have you all been up to? Any crafts, recipes, or activities you'd like to share? Link up below. And don't forget to visit others! It's more fun that way ;)

I love all of the little crafts you do with your girls! That is a wonderful family picture! I hope you are feeling well during these first months of pregnancy, I know it can be tough sometimes. But you look beautiful as always!

Those candy canes are so cute! My kids love decorating too and had such a fun time this year. I haven't done any crafts with them and I need to get on that. Jamison and I have been memorizing Luke 2:1-14 and it has been a great bonding experience. Love the family picture.

I love the rudolph candy canes. I made them with my first graders but it hand't occured to me to make them with M and O. I don't know why since candy canes are a huge hit around here!
Thanks for sharing the ideas.

I wish I had a good post to link up today! I promise I'll do better next week.

I LOVE the pictures. The one of the whole family after you cut your tree is the best!! It's Christmas card worthy! I love it.

Love the little crafts you've been doing. We have a few things at our house to do, we just haven't had the time. Hopefully soon! We have been reading lots of Christmas books. Every night Isaiah picks out a new one.

Off to read some more posts! :)

Oh no. Another crafty blogger. My self-esteem can't take it. I have ZERO craftiness skills in my body. Zero. None. But I have to say that the candy cane's were adorable and I loved your tree!

Thanks for stopping by my lil ole blog today. Have a fabulous weekend~

Hi there! I'm not sure how I found you, but I love your family friendly ideas. I linked up to show my annual Christmas cards (I handmake around 160 a year), but i'm not sure it qualifies since I didn't involve my son helping/family project. Feel free to delete it if it is not the right place to post that- I wasn't sure exactly what kinds of crafts to link. Anyway... such a cute blog you have! Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas! : )
