Girly Nature

So.
I love getting outdoors
{I feel soooo cooped up these days with the constant rain}.
Nature walks, as the girls and I call them.

But, this is what I've discovered.
There is nature.
And then there is Girly Nature.
I love Girly Nature.
Watching the trees come into bloom.
Listening to the birds sing their songs.
Catching glimpses of the bunnies hopping about.
Love.

Taking a walk down to our pond,
peering in to get a closer look at the salamanders . . .
and stumbling upon a HUMONGOUS bull frog . . .
Nope.
Not girly nature.

Nearly stepping on a centipede?
Also, not Girly Nature.
Finding a slug crawling across the bottom of Sierra's pantleg,
then searching frantically for a stick so that I could scrape it off
{rather than have to touch it ~ ew, ew, ew!}
No.
None of that counts as Girly Nature.

You know what else is not on the "Girly Nature List"?
Snakes.
Sorry, but no.

 These guys are okay :)
Caterpillars, butterflies, ladybugs . . .
They all make the list.

What do you love the most about the outdoors?
What can you live without?

My oldest, Emry who is 12, loves snakes and bugs and all non-girly stuff. The other 2 just follow her lead, so we've have many creatures in our house :)

Awesome pics. I love the blooming trees and flowers. Butterflies are another favorite too. I mostly just don't like spiders, wasps, bees, mosquitoes, well all bugs really.

The catepillar looks like what we call an ASP. Highly poisonous and PAINFUL! YOu got some great shots.
