Oh it has been busy around here. Very busy. Good busy. It is Monday {again, can you believe it??}, and that means Momentous Monday over at Tiffany's. I love this because it forces me to really watch for those special little moments that happen every single day, I'm just usually too busy to notice them.
I already mentioned that Saturday was our Spring Fling performance at Dolce Dance, but what I may not have mentioned {in great detail, anyway} was how proud I was of Makenna. Kenners, as we call her, is quite a ham when it's just us kickin' it at home, but when she's around others she is my shy one. She's a little hesitant to be out there in the spotlight, because, well, Sierra is usually the one stealing it! :) On Saturday, Makenna got up there on stage and led her fellow tappers through the whole routine, and that made this Mama so very proud. One of many momentous moments this week.
Do you have a special moment that sticks out from last week? Head on over to Tiffany's and link up. I'd love to read about it.
Lindsay, our Director, kicked things off.
Twirlin' to A Whole New World.
And breakin' it on down with the Chicken Dance. No performance is complete without the Chicken Dance, people.

Afterward we got lunch with friends at Subway, played on the playground, and ate Sno Cones.
It was a good day.
And today we are headed into Portland to attend a baby shower for my cousin. We are so excited to celebrate with her!
What are y'all up to?
This is my first time linking up to Letters of Intent. Why?? Goodness knows I have plenty to say ;)

Dear Virus/Sinus Infection/Whateveryouare,
Go away.
And don't ever come back.
I'm sick of the coughing, the not-being-able-to-breathe-out-my-nose. You've taken away my senses of smell and taste for, oh, about two weeks now. You've almost taken away all of the fun of eating. I even turned down my favorite, Coffee Ice Cream, last night, because, what's the point in piling on the calories when you can't even enjoy the taste??
Goodbye forever!
Signed,
Ms. Stuffyhackn'coughington

I finally took Sierra in to the doctor today. She's had a cold {we all have, actually} for the last week or so, and it was getting worse. When she started complaining of headaches and it hurting under her eyes and around her nose, I knew it was time to go in.
Turns out she has a sinus infection, poor thing. So we headed to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription plus other odds and ends we needed. Cough drops, lip balm, zinc pops. You know, necessities for the sickies.
Kam did our shopping for us.
She's a customer-in-training, don'tchaknow.
Earlier today I was vacuuming. And thinking. I tend to do my best thinking while vacuuming. It's a good thing, too, because I spend a lot of time vacuuming.
Anyway.
I started thinking about all that I have. Of course I am regularly reminded of my blessings. But, I am ashamed to admit that I rarely take a lot of time to reflect just how very blessed I am.
From the time I was a young girl I knew I wanted to be a mom. I knew I wanted to stay at home with my babies. I wanted to live close to family. And, oh yeah, a nice house and lots of clothes and "things" wouldn't hurt. Oh what big dreams I had. Over the years some of what I thought I wanted has changed. By the time Makenna was born it no longer mattered that much to me what kind of house I lived in, what brand of clothes I wore, or how many gadgets we owned. Stuff is just stuff {but don't misunderstand me, I do so love my laptop, iPhone, and camera ;)}.
Today, while vacuuming, I realized that I have everything I've always wanted. More, in fact. I have a husband ~ my friend and life long partner to share this journey with; and three BEE-UTIFUL daughters who amaze me more and more every day with their kindness, love, and sweet ways. I get to be here with them, enjoying their presence daily simply because Jeremy knows how much it means to me to do so. He works extra hard to make my dreams a reality each and every day.
And here we are, in this new chapter of life, building our home together on this land we love out in the country.
Ahhh, God is good. God is so very good.
While it poured at home, we enjoyed some decent weather. Windy, yes, but not so much as a drop of rain.
We even brought a friend along. Sierra and Kate {and Makenna} had so much fun together!!
We hit the sand, and Sierra proceeded to get SOAKED. Let's just say it was a cold, wet, windy walk back to the condo.
We skipped the sand on Monday, and hit the Outlet Stores instead. Gramps even came along to carry his girls ;)
The rest of our trip was spent relaxing and enjoying girl time. Game playin', movie watchin', the works.

And now, back to real life ~ house cleaning, teething babies and all! Stay tuned for a home-building update :)
We love to eat out. I mean, who doesn't? No cooking, no clean up, and you get to drink from colorful straws.
More beach trip photos to come. Things are a little busy right now with end-of-the-year homeschooling wrap up, a little thing called building a house, and, you guessed it, laundry.

Um, excuse me, where did April go?
It seems I was just typing out my April Focus on the Family post, and here we are in May! Crazy. If you are not familiar with Focus on the Family, head on over to Connie's to find out more. She created this plan to help us Mamas get organized, and be deliberate in our actions. Make a plan for your own family, and head over to Connie's to link up!
Time is zoomin' by, and while I don't want to wish May away, I am so looking forward to June. I think we are all ready for a break from dance, a break from soccer, a break from school. Simply, a break. We enjoy our activities, but have too many things going on at once right now, and it feels like we're constantly on the go. I don't like scrambling for dinner 4 nights in a row during the week.
♥ So, our plans for May ♥
We leave today for a mini vacation to the beach. I'm looking forward to it. Last Fall we had thought about planning a Spring trip to American Girl with just the girls ~ Nana, Grandma, the girls, and me. However, the closest one to us is in L.A., and once we started adding up the cost of a hotel and airfare, a rental car, etc., we discovered that we could just about take a week long family vacation in Hawaii, and come out about the same. That was around the time that we got serious about planning to build, and we decided we just couldn't make the L.A. trip{why, oh why isn't there an American Girl in Seattle???}. So we promised Sierra and Makenna that we would plan a little something in May. And here we are. I think this little trip will be just what we need. A nice time to relax, much less expensive, and I think the girls will have a lot of fun. We're even taking a friend along ;)
Of course, Mother's Day is right around the corner. Last year we went to Sunriver with my family. This year we will enjoy Mother's Day at home. I'm not sure of our plans. Perhaps a nice brunch. All I'm really asking for is a warm, sunny day. This rain and cold are getting old!
Makenna will continue to have soccer practices and games throughout May. I think she has improved tremendously in the last few weeks, but I do believe she is finding out that she isn't enjoying it quite as much as she thought she would. It's a lot of running around for a girl who likes to be carried ;) Luckily we only have a few weeks left.
Both Sierra and Makenna will be performing in the community Spring Fling on May 15th. It's always such fun to watch them perform. And on the 16th my cousin flies in from Delaware for her baby shower. This is her first {and probably last} baby, and we are so excited to celebrate with her!
The rest of May will be filled with odds and ends regarding the house, and finishing up our homeschool year. Jeremy and I are hoping to get away one evening for dinner this month. We are enjoying our evenings together {he taught me how to play Hearts last night} after the little ones have gone to bed, but it has been a long time since we've escaped the house together :)
And that's our month! How about y'all? What are your plans?
