Talk To Us Tuesday ~ American Girl, Part 2

{Okay, so IA said that we could write about whatever we wanted ~ no rules~ and still link up.  Hope I'm not breaking any rules here ;)  And by the way, head on over there to find out what others have on their mind today.}

American Girl, Day Two:

AG10

Our second day at American Girl started with a trip to the Doll Hair Salon.
{Yeah, you heard that right}

AG11

Meagan and Hanna were in desperate need of new 'dos, don'tcha know.

AG12

Meagan chose a side braid.

AG13

And Hanna got the half pony braid.  They also both received the full spa treatment.  And let me tell ya, they needed it.  Kenners had also saved her money so that Hanna could get her ears pierced.

AG14

We walked out with several enormous bags that morning.  We then walked around to check out the rest of the mall {much to the girls' dismay}.

AG15

We needed to run off a little energy besides.

AG16

And we came across this adorable little bakery.  Ohhhh how we wanted to go in, but alas, it wasn't to be.  Next door to Pinkabella was Godiva chocolates.  I'm not going to tell you about the big poster in the window advertising Godiva chocolate shakes.  With whipped creamAnd chocolate syrup drizzled over the top.

AG17

Time for a few photos.

AG18

There was a lady walking by who was kind enough to offer to get a shot of our whole group.  Grandma, Nana, Mama, and all the girly girls!

AG19

And before we knew it, it was time to head for dinner.  There were chairs and place settings for each doll.

AG20

And yummy drinks and eats.

Fun story: American Girl was truly an amazing experience.  Each and every employee we came in contact with was over-the-top helpful and just as sweet as can be. At dinner my mom had decided on the salmon.  I think we all expected it might take a little extra time for that particular meal, and didn't think too much of it when we had been waiting awhile.  Our waitress came out and apologized {and apologized} for the wait, and assured us our food would be out soon.  No biggie.  Shortly after, another gal {I'm assuming a manager?} came out and also apologized for the wait, and insisted that we all order desserts on the house because of the extensive wait.  And if that weren't enough {MORE than enough!}, she brought out goodie bags for each of the girls, containing tee shirts for their dolls, balloons, a book, stickers.  It was hands-down, the BEST service I have ever received.  Just a really really great experience.

AG21

So you can imagine we were a little sad to be leaving.

AG22

Our trip home . . . that is a story all its own.
Let's just say we took quite the detour.
Saw some beautiful country.

AG23

Listened to someone jabber the ENTIRE trip.

AG24

And made it home to the boys, all safe and sound, a good many hours later ;)
Isn't that right, Mom?

I love the picture of everyone together!!! What an amazing trip! The girls are going to be talking about this forever! :o)

I'm looking forward to hearing about your detour on the way home. If I'm driving to or from a vacation, there is always some sort of accidental detour involved. :o)

I'm not quite ready for American Girl just yet. I heard it can be a bit pricy. Did I hear correctly?

I love the pics of you and your girls. You are so pretty. And I'm glad that Grandma and Nana could get in on one too!

Have a great week Miss Liz!

Oh I am loving the shots of you with the girls and the one with the grandmothers and y'all. Such GREAT pictures!

I had no idea you could get the doll's hair done ears pierced. Craziness! But I do love how the dolls resemble your daughters.

What a fun trip. If I'm ever in your neck of the woods we must plan a girl's day. I think I'm missing out!

And in case I haven't told you, my web address has changed from (dot)net to www.myfourboys.com. Long story. *sigh*

That's such a cute post & a fun day. My daughter hasn't discovered American girl dolls yet. I'm kind of surprised that she hasn't.

Hey Liz! Quick question - which website do you use to host your photos you put on your blog? I'd been using facebook, but they don't let you upload at full resolution and I'm tired of them always being slightly fuzzy. I've looked at a couple different sites, but could really use your advice! Thanks, girl!

I'm sorry I missed you last week...life happened and well, Im here now.

I love all of those pictures, they bring back such wonderful memories from when my girls were young. We love American Girl, even my hubby had fun walking through the store with his Princesses. I can only hope when they are old enough to give us Grandchildren they'll be girls so we can do it all over gain.

Missed you this week, please come back!
