Random Thoughts on Thursday

Just some thoughts bouncing around in my head . . .

♥ We're thinking about going to the zoo tomorrow.  It's looking like it very well may be our last day of decent weather until . . . oh probably next June or July.  So we're going to take advantage.

♥ Miss Taylor is {finally} sporting cloth diapers.  I cloth diapered Sierra.  Didn't with Kenners {not sure why?} and started over again cloth diapering Kam at around 4 months old.  I thought I'd use disposables through the summer, but it's taken me awhile to get the cloth ones out.  They're finally out, we're using them, and all is going well :)

♥  Speaking of Taylor, she is a DROOL MACHINE.  I seriously do not remember my other girls having quite so much saliva.  She can drool through a bib, denim jumper and onesie in no time flat.  Poor little darlin'.

♥ I've been thinking of doing a weekly "photo tip" installment here on the ol' blog.  Not sure if there's any interest, but it might be fun to share ideas.

♥ And speaking of photos . . . does anyone else have a hard time keeping up with them?  I would LOVE some tips on photo management, because I'm not doing a great job managing!  Don't laugh, but my method right now is pretty much uploading all of them to another site {usually Shutterfly}so that I at least have them backed up to another location.  Also it makes it easy later on to make photo books and have CDs made.  Occasionally I'll have some printed.  That's it.  That's all I've got.  I typically take around 1,000 photos a month, sometimes more, and I feel like I'm drowning in digital files!

My nephew Matthew was quite a drooler too. His clothes were always wet!

I'd love to read your photo tips!

As far as storage goes, I upload them and use Picassa to organize them. Dave does a back up on this computer every day to make sure we don't lose anything. I try to make digital scrapbook pages as soon as I can and then upload them to Persnickety to make 12x12 prints.

Oooh, she might be ready to start cutting some teeth! Sorry, are we not talking about her getting older? :)

I would love a tip for photography. :)

I back everything up on an external hard drive and then delete it from my computer. I also upload a lot to shutterfly. It's redundant, but I'm paranoid about losing them!!

I have no tips for photo storage! HA!

Alex had to wear bibs 24-7. Spit up AND drool!

Cute lil' drooler.
I try so hard to keep up with my photos...because of fear of losing them. Backing them up to shutterfly is a great idea. I get at least 30-50 printed each month. (shutterfly) That way, I have them there and in hand...just in case.
I hope the zoo works out for you all!!

ps. I need lots of photo tips!

About the photo management...I got nothin.
Mine are so incredibly out of control it's not funny.
I like the weekly photo tip idea tho!

That's pretty much what I do with my pictures too so I have no tips there.
Hope you had fun at the zoo if you went!
Also, tips would be awesome.

I don't have a lot of photo tips. I make a folder for each month of the year and when I download off my camera they go into the correct month folder and then into another folder inside that folder labeling what it was. Does that make sense? I then save everything on an external harddrive.

We didn't make to the zoo at all this year...bummer. Did you all make it and have a fun time? I would love for you to post photography tips. Erin at Sunny Side Up has a great tutorial on how to organize pictures.

Henry was a big drooler. I remember changing his outfit at least three times a day just because of drool! We keep all our photos on our computer, but periodically Jason saves them to a portable harddrive so that we have a backup copy.

You already know I'd love a weekly photo tip! Count me in!

Photo management. Do those words even belong in the same sentence? ;o) Seriously, I'm a mess with this. I have zero advice for you here. But I definitely appreciated yours in moving my photos to Flickr! Love how easy that site is to manage!
